I think that’s probably legit. ADs have been lining up boosters to sponsor athletes.

Christie should end up being a toss up with Brooks, but edge to Eli now just based on seniority.

Walker and Jones could be a tossup. I’m sure UM fans will disagree, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Walker is better.
I’m pretty high on Gabe Brown going into next year. He’s a great shooter and athlete just very inconsistent. I could see him being our best player.

To be fair, we don’t know for sure what anyone is offering. I think it’s very likely there will be players making over a million each year though. I think TJD has a good shot at that this year.

Certainly would make the loss of Rocket less impactful.
Brown seemed like he was hit or miss last year when I watched, but he certainly has the talent to take a step up.
Going to be UNC soon it sounds like. Bummed but our frontcourt is pretty stacked for awhile so it could def be worse.

I didn’t even see that thread until now. I had a Purdue friend text it to me as well, but last week I told @boiler1987 it sounded like he was UNC bound.
Yeah, Brian’s been hinting there’s been some behind the scenes things pushing him to UNC for about a month or so now.
Eh I don’t put too much stock into that. Painter went overseas to watch Jaren Jackson junior and we know how that turned out. It was the haphazardly picking a date to visit and whether it was going to be an official or not that did it for me.
Uhhh…if this is the pitch…don’t like Purdue’s chances on the high level guys going forward. Good thing Painter can build teams without the 5* guys like this, but it still sucks.
If they are promising him anything close to $1M, then yes. Hell, I’d pick UNC for a mill.

The way I see it is the guys chasing big bucks are going to those programs anyways.
But having the ability to make money off NIL will help the teams like Purdue who play it clean with guys who just need to make some money.
Making $100,000 at Purdue is not the same as $300,000 at Kentucky but it's still better than $0 at Purdue and $100,000 at Kentucky. If that makes sense. Bigger earning gap but paying NOTHING is what really hurts with kids who need something.

It sounded like a last-ditch effort. There aren’t deals like that for Dawson Garcia. Now, a guy like Duren, maybe some day.
I’d take Brooks over Christie, but I’d take Christie over Johns and slide Houston to the 4.
Hope these kids hire security and get gun licenses. They’ll be targets with that kinda money living on campus with a bunch of broke, young college students and college town residents
No different than the trust fund kids on campus. I doubt anything like that happens unless the player is asking for it… (ex. Getting robbed while buying drugs).
