Lol at casually throwing Indiana in the same tier as Michigan State and Ohio State.Tier 1:

Everyone else besides Illinois
Tier B*tch:

And you like to say I’m not objective.

Both lost to UCLA, only one was able to take em to OT…You're right, we should all be striving to be an 11th seed play in game instead of a 1 seed.
Then we are in agreement - getting to an elite 8 can be easier sometimes. So can winning a CC. Bottom line to me is watching Purdue be competitive/in the mix. Getting the trophy is elusive and fun but I really like enjoying the entire season. The year we lost to Va I was at both games in Louisville. I don’t think I would trade that for anything. Purdue obviously lost but I saw two of the most exciting games of my life with a rooting interest. I’m a lucky guy.I didn’t say it was harder. They are even to me, too. I even provided Dukedevilz scoring system to show he had them even. I’m responding to a guy acting like making an Elite 8 isn’t a big deal.

Sweet moral victory and all.

End of the day, March Madness is just about all that matters to me. I would trade a sweet 16 for a conference championship. Conference tournament championships, while fun, mean very little to me.March Madness is one of the most exciting times in all of sports though and people undersell how fun it is to be in the limelight and advancing. Making the Elite 8 is not easy and is very fun. That’s why I put it on par with a conference championship.
As someone who experiences both, give me a conference championship over a sweet 16 any day. You win 2 games to get to the sweet sixteen. Going over the course of the Big Ten season, fighting through our conference, winning it and then hanging a banner is better than a sweet sixteen.End of the day, March Madness is just about all that matters to me. And no I don’t need reminded how long it’s been since I’ve experienced a conference championship or a Sweet 16. I know.

I would agree with this personally, but could understand if someone put B1G regular season ship in between S16 and E8.As someone who experiences both, I put a conference championship on par with an Elite 8. So does dukedevilz program ranking scoring system.
I still think it depends. As someone who experiences both, I put a conference championship on par with an Elite 8. So does dukedevilz program ranking scoring system.
I still think it depends.
For example, personally I think this year Michigan’s conference championship is more impressive than their Elite 8 run.
But I can understand based on the level of coverage teams get in March why others would rather have the Elite 8.
I’m just tired of not watching my team play much in March. As someone who experiences both, give me a conference championship over a sweet 16 any day. You win 2 games to get to the sweet sixteen. Going over the course of the Big Ten season, fighting through our conference, winning it and then hanging a banner is better than a sweet sixteen.
I would as well but winning the conference and only making a sweet 16 is a little deflating. As someone who experiences both, give me a conference championship over a sweet 16 any day. You win 2 games to get to the sweet sixteen. Going over the course of the Big Ten season, fighting through our conference, winning it and then hanging a banner is better than a sweet sixteen.
Who undersells the fun. Not me. Just not overselling that as a ranking metric for judging a team (or coach).March Madness is one of the most exciting times in all of sports though and people undersell how fun it is to be in the limelight and advancing. I know - others do though 😀Others that act like it doesn’t mean much.
Who’s overselling it as a metric? There’s a difference between using it as a metric (it should be used) and overselling it. We both agree that elite 8 about equals a conference championship. That’s not overselling it as a metric.
I would agree. Conference champ gets the auto bid. When the conference schedules became way more unbalanced the tournament became more popular for me personally. Think the regular season B10 champion is part good team and part favorable schedule in most years. Having said that it still probably makes more sense to have the regular season champion get an auto bid.
Does it depend who you play to get to the elite 8? All tournaments are not equal.Others that act like it doesn’t mean much.

Zeb Jackson
Kobe Bufkin
Terrance Williams
Mousa Diabate
Isaiah Barnes
Will Tschetter

Same with Purdue’s for me. Most talented/deep bench Painter’s ever had IMO.Our bench is as talented as I can ever remember.

Took me a second, but funnySame with IU’s. Most talented bench ever in the Mike Woodson era.
He’s invited to a workout after the pullout date, also his agent said thisAny update on Wiggins Bmore?
Really?
Yeah but it’s perceived differently by the public. The highest seed you played before Nova destroyed you was a 6 seed, and that took a crazy buzzer beater.Yes. Our 2017/18 national title runner up felt just as awesome as our 2012/13 runner up even though our path was much easier.

I think to the fanbase each run feels great but everyone gives UM more props for 12/13 than 17/18.
I wish him the best, but wouldn't be telling the truth if I said I wasn't sad also...Hopefully he gets drafted
Kinda numb to it, seems like a guy leaves early every year.I wish him the best, but wouldn't be telling the truth if I said I wasn't sad also...
