Thoughts on IU?

I just glanced at something showing Michael Durr on the roster, this is a big dude from USF that can put up some #'s. They still got Jackson-Davis? Miller Kopp is that a NU transfer?

What's their starting 5? Could Woodson surprise some people this year?

I’m not expecting a ton from Durr as I think TJD and Race Thompson will get the bulk of the minutes at the 5.

Yes, TJD came back. Yes, Kopp is from Northwestern. We also have two transfers from Pitt that will be playing this year in Xavier Johnson and Parker Stewart.

My Expected Starting 5:
Xavier Johnson
Tamar Bates
Parker Stewart
Miller Kopp

I mean it’s basically an all American type player, double digit scorer transfers, and a 5 star.

I don’t think they’re going to be anything super amazing but like, I think the talent in the roster is pretty clear. I’d put them above MSU right now IMO.

Yeah that’s a really good point, I sort of thought IU could be sneaky good every year and they never were in all of Archie’s tenure.

I’ll give Woodson the benefit of the doubt though. Hard to be worse than Archie at taking talent and producing a decent team.

The good news is it will be tough for their incoming 5* to be as terrible as their 5* last year. Not going to say impossible but I’d be shocked.

That’s a pretty good point that I simply don’t know the answer to. We think it could be a pretty big deal for us, and I assume IU fans think the same.

Could but have no idea. Happy with the staff, has some talent this year along with TJD. Will be fun to watch it unfold.

Osu has a huge basketball fanbase that gets overshadowed by the FBall program. It’s always been that way but it’s magnified more now because Osu FBall has lost fourteen Big Ten games in the last 16 seasons and 5 of them were in a year with an interim coach and half the roster suspended. Basketball in those same 16 years has missed the tournament 2-3 times.

Their social media numbers are pathetic. Ohio State hasn’t made it to the Sweet 16 since 2013 so it’s not surprising to see them care so much less about basketball with football being so dominant.

It's legit crazy that I believe 4 (2018, 2011, 2009, 2004) of those are somehow to Purdue.

It's like our only accomplishment in that time lol
