It's legit crazy that I believe 4 (2018, 2011, 2009, 2004) of those are somehow to Purdue.

It's like our only accomplishment in that time lol
Don’t sell us short. I’ll always remember the thrilling 20-14 win over Indiana state when we couldn’t punch it in the end zone from the 1 yard line 3 consecutive times.

& who could forget the blocked FG to seal the deal over powerhouse Middle Tennessee State?

This was really sad to watch in real time - you knew we were stuck with a dude that was absolutely clueless. In hindsight it was actually nice that the honeymoon phase with Hazell ended after his first 6 quarters as coach. Literally just kind of laughed and half watched with no expectations after that instead of ever thinking he was going to do anything.

I admittedly got my hopes up a little with how they played against Notre Dame his first year in that night game at home. That hope quickly drained after though. Still cannot believe how incompetent that man was to run a power 5 program.

I remember we finally got into shotgun that game and I do think I had a little hope because we looked semi competent.

But that Indiana State game really jaded me fast.

Washington staying in the draft is big for Purdue’s chance to take 2nd in the conference. If Dickinson stays in even 1st.

Rothstein already has you guys as the favorite.

Rothstein’s 2020/21 preseason power rankings

6. Ohio State

7. Indiana

8. Michigan

9. Purdue

To be fair I feel like almost everybody had an almost identical top 4.

16 seasons goes back to 2005 but regardless the three is kind of mind boggling. 2011 was the Fickell year.

Osu is definitely not better without Washington but I’d expect them to still be better than they were last season.
Why do you say this? Just curious. As someone who has been very wrong about OSU the last few years, I’d be interested in your answer.

I think OSU will always be good under Holtmann, but the way you defend this team completely changes without Washington. I'll be very surprised if they're in the 2 seed range again next year.
Losing Washington was a big hit. Even when he wasn’t playing great, he was still a huge threat that other teams had to watch out for.

There is huge value to guys like Carsen Edwards or Duane Washington that are both elite on ball and elite off ball players. They impact every possession even if they don't touch the ball, as you have to be glued to them at all time because they can essentially score anywhere once they cross half court.

Hey, don't sell us short. For some reason, Brohm has had success against Iowa. And who can forget that even though we've been a trainwreck for a while, Brohm is still 2-1 against IU.

Yeah, we suck.
You should have just let him go to Louisville instead of spending 6mil/year on Hazzel+ results.

Agree 100%. Off ball gravity is becoming more and more of a necessity, especially for guards.

It’s not close to $6 mil anymore but no way we let him walk. That would’ve been a really bad decision after how quickly things turned around.

"Purdue football head coach Jeff Brohm earned over $6 million last year, making him the second-highest paid Big Ten coach and the highest-paid Purdue employee by far."

This was 2020 but I'm sure he took a large paycut on account of the 2 wins he had for 2021.

He's way better than Hazell. But he's certainly not earned his coin the last 2 years. Injuries have played a big part but when you make that much.....

Not sure why they have him below but Brohm made $4.8MM last year. That put him behind Harbaugh, Franklin, Day, Fitz, Tucker, Frost and Ferentz.

You clearly missed the anymore part lol.
