Yeah. Sad situation for his family apparently. Selfishly, I would think that solidified his recruitment to a Purdue and IIndiana battle. No sourcing or anything, purely a guess.

So, is it safe to assume that since you didn't have an answer, it means you agree?

Sometimes it just seems like you think that if a person is a player, or coach at Michigan, it automatically gives them a headstart on everyone else. Or, it might be that you just believe that anyone that JB hires has to be one of the best out there.

That’s been the word since the weekend...Sounds like a big ****ing baby and good riddance

Sucks for the program only having two QBs on the roster with one being a true freshman. Hopefully Ramsey has improved in certain areas and Penix is ready to contribute when he is needed. I am guessing you will see Reese Taylor move to the 3rd string. Hopefully that isn't needed.

Yup, i guess shows the character of the kid. When he committed he said he knew the job wasn't guaranteed and that he wanted it like that. All talk it appears. 2nd and 3rd stringers are now true freshmen, Reese Taylor from Ben Davis had be playing at corner all summer now gets switched back to QB. A dicey situation.

Glad Illinois effed that one up. AJ Bush has had a stellar spring for Illinois. Though, I'm not sure what that's relative to.

What are you Purdue guys hearing on Franklin and/or Newman? Heard Franklins visit went well (surprise surprise) and that it's a tight race between IU/PU but nothing else of major note.

I like the fact that Armaan and Damezi have a previous relationship from their times in South Bend that I wasn't aware about. Phinisee is also a great player recruiter. If Franklin wants to commit to IU I am all for it. Any guard that wants to commit to IU I am all for it. Hopefully the IU visit was enough for him to not commit to Purdue on that visit and makes him think about it more. If he is still uncommitted by the end of the weekend IU has got a real shot.

Nothing new. They’ll both be at Purdue Thursday night for the football game along with Mason Gillis and Isaiah Thompson. That’s about it for now.

My guess is Painter and staff will push pretty hard for his commitment this weekend.

It's always risky to anticipate the actions of an 18 yr old, but it sounds like the IU visit went well enough to make that unlikely to occur. Rabjohns mentioned that AF was impressed with IU's skill development of guards, and that he hit it off with RP and Al Durham. Also mentioned that both his Mom and Aunt really liked the IU staff...

He could well end up committing to PU, but it doesn't seem that likely he'll do so on his visit.
Could end up being a replay of the Carton situation, where we've heard that it was IU not UM that was actually going to be the choice. Until the final visit to OSU turned everything upside down...

He’s listed 3 finalists and will have officially visited two by the end of the this weekend. Doubt he takes the visit to Xavier. It’s down to IU & Purdue. He’ll commit somewhere after the visit to Purdue.

Is Purdue officially out on Timme? I didn't see them listed with an in-home.

I agree it's likely down to IU/PU. Just seems like it's a lot closer than many, myself included, initially believed.

AF,his Mom and his Aunt are the 3 decision makers and it seems IU made a very good impression. His aunt is the head coach for PSU women, and word in chat last night was she really liked what she saw at IU.However, I know Thompson is still saying he'll commit to PU on the visit...

Do we know the plan after the Purdue visit assuming he doesn’t commit? Is he gonna take a week and then announce or something like that? Haven’t heard much outside of the visits.

Nope I still have a feeling this one is ova

Just found it interesting because Timme claimed he'd be setting up OVs during in-homes.
Not sure about that but always thought even if Purdue did get an official from him that he’d be a long shot. I was surprised when I read they were expected to get an official from him so it wouldn’t shock me at all if in fact they did not.

I hope so, feel really good about this recruitment but that good feeling normally doesn’t turn out so well.

Franklin is a solid player...as long as Purdue doesn’t get both Franklin and Newman and IU gets one of the two I won’t be all that upset. Even if IU doesn’t get one and gets someone like Bouknight I won’t be upset at all

Supposedly, MSU isn't as big of a favorite as was originally put out. Might not be a favorite at all.

I'd rather have one of the instate kids instead of Bouknight. Just for the fact of them being instate kids. If Bouknight was hands down better and an impact player right away, that'd be different. All seem like solid four year guys.

A good player is a good player I don't do the Indiana kids are better than others. IU has three in-state kids in the 2018 class and will get at least one if not both of the top 2 players in the 2019 class.

There is for the school. I don't have any idea about the recruit though.
Thanks. Yeah, I knew coaches had contact limits, but wasn't sure about the players.

Would be surprised that he would cut from 10 to 6 less than a month after releasing that list, but it is recruiting, so ya never know.

Thinking of making a trip back to Indy for an IU game this January.

Quick question Purdue fans whats the secondary market like for IU games. Especially Saturday IU games?

If I do not come back for the IU Purdue game I think I am going to come back that next weekend when they play Michigan. That way I can either win or split my bet with @hailtoyourvictor while watching in person.

Weekend tix to an IU at Purdue will be available on the secondary market but they will be pricey. I doubt you will find seats for less than $100 per.

I figured as much. My hope with the Michigan game is that it is a Friday night game so less folks might be willing to make the trip. Still will be up there too if I had to guess.
