I do think he’ll be better, by large margin? No.He's good, best on Purdue but better than Romeo by a large margin? There's a lot of stupid things said ITT lately don't add to it.

No but context matters.Do they have asterisks next to those losses? A loss is a loss is a loss.
And I’m old enough to know that Tom f’ing Crean won the conference outright more and made as many S16’s as Painter has in the last handful of years.I’m old enough to remember when IU made the tourney.
Yes and you’re saying and predicting he’s going to be a sure fire All-American. How can the number 5 player in the country not even lead his high school team to a state title? And there are plenty of freshman that have excelled. Sooooo.......
That’s sports man. Suck it up and move on.No but context matters.
No one claimed he was a great recruiter, just that when he gets his guys his teams have success. His winning % speaks for itself, he just needs a tournament run to take that next leap much like Jay Wright needed.
In his mind he doesn't see it that way. Since Romeo is going to IU he will clearly suck. And there are plenty of freshman that have excelled. Sooooo.......
All American? No. But I do think he’s going to be a very impactful freshman and make a huge difference.Yes and you’re saying and predicting he’s going to be a sure fire All-American. How can the number 5 player in the country not even lead his high school team to a state title?
You & the IU fans are the one’s bringing up Painter’s lack of tournament success. Not me.That’s sports man. Suck it up and move on.
It is what it is. Y’all are claiming his recruiting prowess, yet there aren’t any tourney results to show for it. Weird. You & the IU fans are the one’s bringing up Painter’s lack of tournament success. Not me.
If you objectively look at the talent he had during his best seasons, an injury has delrailed most of them. 2010, 2011, 2018.
If Hummel was healthy in 2011, Purdue wouldn’t have played VCU. Little Rock is the only bad loss in the tournament Painter has had.
He recruits good players to his system and wins games. I’m not sure how that can be argued.
Yeah, sometimes all it takes is a break in the teams you play like Mich did this last season"Just"

Why not just beat the teams you have to play?Yeah, sometimes all it takes is a break in the teams you play like Mich did this last season
I’ll relay him that message and let ya know. Why not just beat the teams you have to play?

Did I say that? He’s had 5 teams I feel like that were talented enough for an elite 8. 3 of those 5 teams got hurt by injuries. The other 2 got beat by Uconn and Kansas who were just better teams.Sometimes breaks go your way, sometimes they don't.
13 seasons and you're going to blame them all on injuries and bad breaks? K.
That's because in 13 years he hasn't even been close to winning a sweet 16 game. That is a major red flag. By the way, Jay Wright had already been to a final 4 prior to his recent run so it isn't like it came out of nowhere. Matt Painter blows leads to teams like VCU and Arkansas Little Rock. You & the IU fans are the one’s bringing up Painter’s lack of tournament success. Not me.

The injury excuses might make Purdue fans feel all warm and fuzzy inside but Hail's right, after 13 seasons you know what you have, and what you have is a good but not great coach that struggles to win big games. Simple as that. We all admit that Archie has a lot to prove, but he has already been further in the tourney than Painter.
I’m sure I could come up with a few if I tried really hardGot any more excuses?

He had been to the Elite 8 3 times prior to this past year. Lazy comparison and quite the reach to say Painter = pre-2018 Wright.
Before Villanova won it all in 2016. Jay wright had 1 elite 8, 1 final 4, 2 sweet 16’s in 14 seasons and multiple 2nd round exits. He was hardly the poster boy for tournament success. He had been to the Elite 8 3 times prior to this past year. Lazy comparison and quite the reach to say Painter = pre-2018 Wright.

Agree, I actually think beilein pre 2012 would have been much better imo.
(Note: before you lose your mind, I’m not predicting MP will match him, just looking at records before breaking through)
Seth Towns TOV%- 14.5You home yet? Waiting for an explanation on those usage and turnover rates.
No one isn’t saying that is not better, Wright was known for flopping in the tournament though pre 2016 with his teams fully healthy. For whatever reason they just didn’t perform and now he has arguably the best program in the country. One elite 8 and one final four are much better than four sweet 16s all getting smoked
Seth Towns TOV%- 14.5
Stone Gettings TOV%-17.1
Robert Hatter TOV%-15.4
Edosomwan TOV%-14.8
Evan B TOV%-14.7
So he actually didn’t turn the ball over many than anyone besides Towns which is so incremental.
I absolutely think he'll prove to be the much superior player.
Yeah and I was right. Look at their per 40 minute or possessions they had the ball in their hands. Boudreaux is the 2nd lowest. He shouldn’t be punished because he played more minutes/had the ball in his hands more.Your statement was literally:
"Again, his USG% was at 30, it’d be hard not to avg 3 to’s a game with a number that high."
2018 Seth Towns 2.1 TOpg at 30.5% usage
2018 Stone Gettings 2.3 TOpg at 30.5% usage
2017 Evan Boudreaux 3.0 TOpg on 29.2% usage
2016 Robert Hatter 2.1 TOpg on 35.8% usage
2016 Edo Edosomwan 2.1 TOpg on 30.0% usage
A lottttt of great freshman struggle in their first year leading a team. I mean, look at Swanigan. Didn’t reach his full potential until his sophomore year.
Ben Simmons & Markelle Fultz are much better players than Romeo and they couldn’t even make the tourney.

Lol okay so 2.2 to’s in 23 min is better than 2.9 TO’s in 34 min? Maybe my post should have said a 30% USG with at least 34 mpg then. I’m just comparing stats in a fair way. Please keep the goalposts in one place.
Yeah and my post above compared their career numbers, but as you can see for yourself they’re all really similar.@otte21 based on Sports-Reference
