*Official* B1G Off-season Thread

I'm having a tough time picking my favorite Stockman memory. Just so many to choose from.......

I was very partial to a place called D.P. Dough in Bloomington, but it didn't last all that long. Luv Shack does take it for me though.
That's a chain. They have them in Illinois too. Their eward system owes me like three free calzones, but their website mysteriously doesn't work when I try to claim them.

I remember there being a few in some big ten towns...hell of a lot more now.

Sad face.

Yeah, we've had some borderline guys, but those guys dropped from 5* status before they arrived on campus. Jereme Richmond is the most obvious example.

That just simply amazes me.

Apparently Nick Ward looks great physically. Totally different body then FR year.

Some clips surfaced of him playing in this thing called moneyball taking people off the dribble and creating his own shot. Don’t make much of that, but it was cool to see.

Moneyball is a summer league in Lansing (Dimondale) with all of the MSU guys plus a lot of other college players in the state. The Michigan guys showed up for a couple of weeks two years ago, but that is about it. They havent been back (long drive, maybe haters in the crowd?)

Ive been there a few times in the past few years. DJ Wilson played there two years ago and everyone said he looked like a completely different player and sure enough that year he was a high level Big Ten player and first round pick.

At the very least it always gives the local area a glimpse of the young MSU guys plus other solid talent. Miles has put on some nice dunk shows there in the last two years.

Aw, c'mon! Where are his moneyball stats?!? You know how germane they are to B1G performance! Whenever posting, always think, WWGD.

Yea you have to take the good with the bad. Couple seasons ago (maybe even last summer) - Tum Tum was nailing 3's like Steph Curry. Then he went on to hit exactly 5 all season.

There is little defense played in these games, and half the time major players don't even show up (no Goins, McQuaid, Loyer, etc. last night for their respective teams). But its still fun to watch sometimes, and see how players have been working on their skills.

Ward did look slimmer, and showed some improvement in his handles and jumpshot. It was good to hear that Gabe Brown and Aaron Henry went at each other.

Yeah, it’s always a fun watch, but I always tell the MSU fan base to take everything they see there with a grain of salt.

All I really take out of it is how there body looks. Ward looks very fit and way more muscular. I mean everyone looked good, but everyone always looks good at moneyball.

Yeah saw some clips of Ward taking people off the dribble. Doubt we see much of that but it’s good to have that in your arsenal (but again, it’s moneyball)

Brown and Henry both had 23 points nets respectively, but in pretty sure Brown had more attempts. Think Brown will be the better player down the road, but Henry probably helps out more first year.

At some point, the Michigan State BOT just needs to get out of their own way. Regardless of whether this guy is imminently qualified, they need to distance the university from the stigma hovering over it whenever possible.

Eh, lawyers switch sides all the time. It doesn’t look great, but I’m hoping the BoT properly vetted him.

I'm sure he's been vetted but when you are a public institution and are embroiled in a very public controversy, public perception is as if not more important than vetting.

Public perception is already down the drain for MSU so it is not more important than the vetting process. Hopefully this guy takes it seriously and investigates all complaints and doesn’t sweep shit under the rug. They need to get the train back on the track.
