*Official* B1G Off-season Thread

Illinois adds another player taller than 6'6" to the roster. Almost enough for a frontcourt now.
Here is a picture of him with Brad Underwood.

Something we can agree on.

26+ win seasons by Matt Painter in past 3 years: 3
26+ win seasons by IU in past 25 years: 3

Sweet 16 appearances by Matt Painter in past 10 years: 4
Sweet 16 appearances by IU in past 25 years: 5

Missed NCAA tournaments by Purdue under Painter: 3
Missed NCAA tournaments by Indiana in past 5 years: 3

Its sad that Purdue fans have to present numbers this way to get a leg up on Indiana. They've been better the past 2 years maybe 3, even before that time in the painter era. Says more about your fan base than it does the difference between the two programs.

This. Over and over and over.

Good point. Pretty sad Purdue’s last decade is comparable to IU’s last quarter-century. I like it when we can agree.

Good point. Pretty sad Purdue’s last 25 years are comparable to IU’s Even though it’s been a good stretch for Purdue and one of IU’s worst stretches. I like it when we can agree.
FIFY

But I see you’ve officially gone full fanboy. Got it. Good to know.

Michigan has made the NCAA Tournament Championship Game more times in the past 6 years than Purdue has in the 79 year history of the NCAA Tournament. You might wanna sit out on the whole trashing other programs thing.

Regardless of how down Indiana has been the last couple years, Purdue is pretty mediocre.

Purdue has an all time winning record against um basketball and not only more b10 titles then um, but the most in the conference. We'll talk shit if we want, Oher than a couple miracle tournament runs um has been a mediocre program as well.

Congrats. I (and just about everyone else in the world outside of Purdue fans) would take more National Championships, Runner-Ups, Final Fours, Elite 8s, and Sweet 16s than owning a head to head record.

Michigan past 7 years:
2 NCAA Tournament runner-ups
2 Final Fours
3 Elite 8s
4 Sweet 16s
2 Big Ten Conference Championships
2 Big Ten Conference Tournament Championships

Purdue past 20 years:
0 NCAA tournament runner-ups
0 Final Fours
0 Elite 8s
4 Sweet 16s
2 Big Ten Conference Championships
1 Big Ten Conference Tournament Championship

Michigan more successful in 7 years than Purdue has been in AT LEAST 20 years.

Pleasantly surprised how a few stats can rustle so many jimmies ITT.

My jimmies get a bit rustled when fans of programs better than Michigan troll because at the end of the day I wish Michigan was as good.

Responding to a Purdue fan trying to troll gives me more of a "getting paid to shit on company time" feeling than rustled jimmies. It's a bit gratifying.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I really don’t think MSU is a top ten team this year, and I don’t think we win the conference. I’d love for them to prove me wrong but like, our wings are McQuaid and Langford, who could be good but have yet to prove anything. PG and Center are good, but outside of that, there are a lot of questions.

I don’t think a team starting Matt McQuaid and Kenny Goins in the Big Ten will win the conference.

Our bench is basically freshman, which could end up being good for us, but if say Gabe Brown and Aaron Henry suck year one, we are in a terrible spot on the wings.

Xavier Tillman is probably the third best player on the team except you can’t start Ward and him together in the modern game, but if you give him to many minutes Ward will bitch about not getting enough, so he will be in a bit of a limited role.

On paper I see us in the 3-6 range. I’d take UM’s, Indiana’s, and Maryland’s roster ahead of ours right now. Maybe Nebraska.
Good post but not sure if Indiana has a better roster. There is a lot of proving to do there and Izzo > Miller. I really think the return of Ward could be problematic for chemistry. He and Mom have no love for Izzo and that could go south in a hurry if he doesnt get the ball and mins all the time. Goins and Tillman would have been adequate even with Izzo’s propensity to play two bigs in todays game.

All with Tom Crean as head coach, who we fired. Pretty easy to make the numbers show what you want. Just ask CNN.

So rustled you replied to the same comment twice LOL. Head to head purdue is far superior to um.

Why didn't you give this advice to the Purdue fans over the past few pages?
If I as a Purdue fan were to ever be on the IU side of an argument than my life would no longer hold meaning. My comment was also made because of your posts of late how UM’s bench could beat a lot of big ten starters, etc.

Hopefully Newman goes the way of Anderson...Purdue lock to IU commit.
definitely has that vibe. I think Newman's "handlers" are more pro-Purdue than Anderson's were.

Before IU offer, they asked Purdue if him going to Florida would affect them recruiting Brandon.

is this thread just talking breaking bad, GoT and bashing IU??

Can you guys please not go after Newman?
yeah this board is peak post-season rn

If we're talking about GoT, wtf was up with the scene below:
the weird shot of him looking distraught outside the room where jon and daenerys were banging. He shouldn't know they're related, he obviously has respect for her but no signs of loving her...did he somehow betray her when he met w/ Cersei? Or does he just not want her to take a Stark?

I don't think that. Don't make stuff up.
