***Official B1G Off-Season Thread***

Alrighty boys. Off-season is here for all but 1, perfect time for some a way too early tier list.

Anybody that’s a first round draft pick I’m going to assume is gone until they declare they are returning.

I’m also going to assume guys who have their Covid 5th year available will use them.

Tier 1- Purdue

Tier 2- Maryland, Michigan St, Northwestern

Tier 3- Illinois, Wisconsin, Ohio St

Tier 4- Michigan, Iowa, Indiana, Rutgers

Tier 5- Penn St, Nebraska,

Tier 11- Minnesota

This is obviously before any portal additions, so these can change wildly. But this is how I see it today

Way too early to put us at tier 11. I'd start is off at tier 8 and adjust from there.

Shrews to ND heating up. Wanted him to stay out of Indiana.
I wonder how often we’d recruit against him though tbh. Feels like it’d be worse if he’d be at Butler tbh but who knows. Can’t remember how often we had legit head-to-head recruiting battles against ND.

You get one or two years anymore in basketball. If you aren't a solid producer, you will be replaced.

We need to hit that portal hard!!! More athletic and defensive players

Yup, I'll be curious to see what dead weight leaves us after we're done playing.

We lose a shit ton---TJD, Race, Kopp, JHS(likely)....Two decent frosh coming in. Portal will be HUGE. Best thing is XJ coming back

For his sake, I hope his extra year is approved. But I don't think it's a slam dunk it happens based on what I've heard.

He should.....

--Injury came in the first half of season

--He's just barely of the 30%----31%. NCAA normally will grant the waiver if close.

--He did not play in any games after the midpoint of the season..

I would be surprised if he's not granted the waiver

Portal is going to be big for everyone, lol

Just how it is nowadays, but yes, Indiana is about to replace 4 starters…. Not fun.

What do you guys lose?
Mayer is the only lock.

Could lose Shannon and Hawkins to the draft, but we’ll pay them big to return if they don’t like where they stand in that regard.

So far we’ve heard rumors that we could lose any of Dainja, Epps, Melendez, and Harris. I’d imagine we don’t lose of all of them, but 2 or 3 wouldn’t surprise me.

Is Hawkins really on draft radar?

I personally wouldn’t draft a ‘stretch’ big that hasn’t shot above 28% from the college 3, but this is the NBA we are talking about.

All it takes is one team to give him a guarantee
