***Official B1G In-Season Thread***

That shit is still on? I guess I haven’t watched ESPN for 14 years so 2005 seems like yesterday.

Those guys get told what to say by producers they can't form their own opinions...so shocking a producer at ESPN is going to tell them to shit on a coach who shit on their shitty employee

Whats clownish is the sheep at ESPN defending a guy who sucks at his job and tries to make up fake rules for the committee. I love what Archie said.
I get it though and don’t blame anyone. CBB media, especially on the bracketology area, is a relatively small, “unimportant” section of these large media outlets. ESPN hasn’t been shy about firing people the last several year. I wouldn’t want to make waves by going against one of the “more powerful” people by going against him. It is what it is.

They gamed the system. Plain and simple.

No one is afraid of Jordan Bohannon. He's not even a 1st teamer, and he plays zero defense.
HE was a 3rd teamer last season,
The dude was actively talking about shutting down after he played his 10th game. That's not guts. It was premeditated. It's exploiting the rule. I ran several races my last season of track at UNCG with two pelvic stress fractures.
no he stated this at the beginning of the season, the 10th game was vs ISU,. you know nothing about Iowa and what went on. he never gamed the system as if he had been able to play he would have plain and simple. but you can keep living in your fantasy land where you think you know everything when in fact you don't know shit.

he followed the rules set down by the NCAA and nothing else.

you can't game the system or cheat when the rules are there to follow.

Coming off a 3 day bender AND Purdue squashing any hopes for getting an at-large bid.

Lunardi is FOS. This will be an interesting year to see who is chosen at large. Does legitimately scheduling tougher comp matter. If it isn’t an impactful metric I could see a return to cupcake scheduling. To hell with ACC/Gavitt/etc. Just schedule home games with directional dental like they do in SEC football. Rant over.

Very surprising. I heard from a very good source before the start of the season that Cockburn wasn't anything special.
what had he done to receive your praise. nothing that's what he used his 7'1 285 lbs frame to push players around

Kofi
27.4 mpg
avg 13.3 ppg
8.8 rpg
1.4 bpg
20 assist with 59 TO's
shooting
53.2% from the field
67.7% from the FTL
0.0% from 3

not exactly awe inspiring stats.

Garza as a FR stats
21.7 mpg
12.1 ppg
6.4 rpg
1 bpg
shooting
55..7% from the field
68.1% from the FTL
34.8% from 3
he did make the All BT FR team as a FR.

Real talk, am I an a$$hole?

1) Liquidated pretty much all my equity exposure, including 401k, 5 months ago
2) Got hammered on a relative basis over those months
3) Loving that the market is tanking (obviously not hoping for deaths)
4) Now, I want it to sht the bed as much as possible so I can pile everything back in and get my upside

I might be an a$$hole.

Why'd you liquidate? Did you get laid off or were you trying to time the stock market?

smaller division schools are holding their tourney games in closed gyms with no spectators

people are starting to question if the NCAAT will follow suit?

Equity markets have been on a historic run since 2008, and fundamentals don’t support a continued run. The last 5-6 years have been all momentum/flow of funds driven. There has to be a pullback. Timing it is very hard, but we are due for a downcycle. For the last several years, I thought it would be China’s shadow banking system blowing up that would be the catalyst, but they managed to massage/manipulate economic data/provide government interventions to soft land. I moved everything into fixed income and alternatives (except unvested or out of the money company options) thinking that there isn’t much upside left to lose. Like I said, I hope we see a huge short term dump so I can pile back in.

Definitely one more, but next year is a real make or break year for him.

Funny part is I could see him winning two games to get to a sweet16 and people will start sucking him off all of a sudden. It’s a funny world and people are stupid.

Read on the Illinois forum "Every year since the B10 has expanded to 14 teams, an 11-14 seed has made the quarterfinals"

How much did you miss out on during the last 4.5 months?

And Howard was still able to split with Izzo in his head coaching debut season??
You guys finished what, 9th? With a senior Teske and Simpson. That's a disappointing way to end their careers for them. Never Big Ten champs. I'm glad we could send Cash out with a Big Ten Championship, and 3 in a row.

Izzo split with a 9th place team who had a first year head coach after being the preseason #1?

With all of the stupid sht the IU administration has done over the past 25 years, its beyond stupid that this is the thing people are getting upset about. What he said was absolutely spot on and if it had been their coach....they would have also agreed with it.
