***Official B1G In-Season Thread***

Were you the one who said Sasha wouldn't be a good shooter?
I don’t remember making a comment on Sasha. I did say Nojel would be a poor player this year, so I was right there. I also thought Aaron Wheeler would be good this year. Clearly I was wrong there.

Not sure why were using conference only. Compare their year long stats and the only thing IT is better is 3pt%, pts/g and To.
@boilerzz threw out Franklin’s conference stats so I threw out IT’s. Plus it’s the same level of competition anyway. Anyone at that level can dominate Sam mcneese st.

Either way, at least we will have a chance. Unlike PU.

I mean he hasn’t been great offensively but he’ll probably still make the all-defense team.

Purdue at 4th SOS and Indiana at 6th i believe on espn. Not sure it matters much but i'll refer to my post above.

He’s been trash offensively. You guys were all hyping him up in the pre season because his mom said he had been working on his shooting (clearly he hadn’t). I hope he doesn’t transfer in the off season.

You think we hyped him up because of what his mom said on the free board? Hahaha

According to the team sheets that were updated today, IU has a better SOS(44) and NCSOS(78) than Purdue (47,81)...

There have been a fair number of national people questioning the SOS shared by the NET. Apparently they are using RPI SOS which makes no sense as it was a terrible metric. I know Parrish and Norlander have largely ignored it and are using KenPom.

Good thing only Kenpom is used to determine tourney teams. You guys should be a lock.

Clearly as there was nothing else to suggest he was even going to be a mediocre offensive player. He hasn’t improved a bit on the offensive end since he got to Purdue. He will be a lottery pick though...

Anyone who bought into his shooting being even bad as opposed to putrid was foolish.

I did not expect him to forget how to attack and finish though. Why a 6'6 225 lb dude is throwing up floaters is beyond me.

lol fake news
My wife is a nurse in the Seattle area, this is not fake news. Right now, we still won't really know the extent of damage this can do in the US for another 30-90 days because of the long incubation period before symptoms are shown.

It’s the metric used on the official NCAA team sheets, so it’s the metric I’ll use...

Note: It’s also the metric that fits my narrative:):)

The virus isn't fake news. Talking about March Madness not having fans is fake news.

Care to show some of our posts hyping him up on offense?

I honestly don’t even care. I was poking fun back at @klize17 earlier and just trolling @SNU0821 . I’m happy Purdue has IT & I’m sure IU fans are happy they have Franklin. Completely different players anyway.

Agreed. IT seems like a good player. I'm happy with Franklin and his contributions this year. I thought it was just funny seeing @boilerzz trying to make himself feel better about Newman not being ready by dogging Franklin who's helped us win games this year. I'm pretty positive that if Newman could have helped this year, you guys would have welcomed it considering the results we've seen so far.

It’s a balance thing though. Newman’s shooting alone could have helped this year when the offense gets stagnant as shit, but at what cost? Ryan Cline helped Purdue win a couple games his freshman year (the @Pitt game stands out to me) but Painter’s always said he regrets not redshirting him.

Can't say I have a good feeling about the Iowa game tonight. Purdue just isn't as good at shooting wide open threes on the road as they are at home.

Make an argument against it using stats. Dont use a "everyone knows Cline is a better shooter than McRoberts".

The fact is, you cant. They are both 39% shooters. Cline hits double the amount of 3s, but only because he takes more.

The big difference between Cline and Mcroberts is that Clines job on the team is to be a shooter. He is a terrible defender. Mcbobs real job on the team is to be a great defender and do the little things. It just so happens that he does Clines job at the same level as well...

How is he wrong? Similar percentage. Cline just shoots more. That wasn't McRoberts role. However, Archie has mentioned he's worked with McRoberts on being more comfortable taking open shots. I think you'll see him take more shots this year when he's open that he passed on last year. But again, same percentage. How is he wrong?

I'm not talking career. Im talking about last season.

And the point was that IU is the better shooting TEAM. Purdue has some good shooters, but IU is better across the board.

Well... Morgan shot 39% during conference last season. I would expect him to be around that this year. Fitzner has never shot below 41%. Green was a 40% 3pt shooter during conference. Romeo had a decent shooting percentage in high school, and that was facing double teams and off balance 3s. I expect him to be around 37%. McBobs as has already been pointed out shot 39% from 3 last year.

Those 5 guys will take the bulk of the 3s for IU this season.

I'll take McRoberts all day every day over Cline. Not really close to me.

$50 to the charity of your or my choice that Purdue will finish with a higher 3 point field goal percentage this year.

You down?

Sure, that works.
