Michigan and Iowa have some good heat in both sports. But our rivalry is more respectful.

You think UM fans would be big time arrogant, but they are some of the nicest fans in person. I think there is a mutual respect among the fanbases

My most hated schools have gone like this:

Early 2000s: Ohio State because that’s what I learned as our biggest rival.
2008: Michigan State when I went to college and met a bunch of MSU fans.
2012: MSU/Indiana when I met Borden, SNU, and Free Radical.
2015: MSU after Free Radical disappeared and I started getting along with Borden and SNU.
2020: Iowa

I think this about sums it up. It depends on who's good and when, and also who you're around. Indiana doesn't think we're a rival because we haven't been good at the same time in the past 20 years. That's fair, and, frankly, I don't consider them one of our rivals either. But there are times where I really hate them.

Illinois' top-3 rivals right now are Mizzou, Iowa, and NW. Some other guys float in and out, and I imagine that our players have different teams that they hate more than who I hate.

What play is in question? I thought the back-and-forth was simply a hypothetical, if a player falls on the floor, with the ball.
Nah - it was a specific play. Player did not have control of the ball. It was a loose ball situation, player dove, got possession while sliding. Never travel in that situation.
