***Official B1G In-Season Thread***

Hey man, you have autism and you don’t see me making fun of you.
Well being that you have Down syndrome I’m not sure you even know what making fun of someone actually means. But it’s cool. Instead of @B-Westy you should change it to b-downsy. That would be more appropriate.

If Indiana wants to make the NCAA Tournament they would be smart to not get walked on the road and should probably try to win tonight. Which means nice win @Deathclutch
I just don't want to see us fold like we did at Michigan. I'd actually like to see some fight. This is a winnable game, but we can't do what we did against Michigan and expect to win.

Over. Similar situation with Garza and Iowa. Let him get his make everyone else beat you, I would think.
Agreed. They really need to focus on shutting down Carr in this one though. Simpson destroyed all of iu’s guards on Sunday and their rotations are so poor that Michigan was either going to have an open shot or be in good position for an offensive rebound due to scrambling, oft unaware iu defenders. That shit can absolutely not happen tonight. Minnesota doesn’t have the depth of offensive talent Michigan does, but the playbook on how to make iu look dumb on defense is out there. Unfortunately it’s not super difficult to do.

100% agree.

This is a big week. IU wins tonight and Sunday they are looking pretty damn good. Split is still okay. Lose both...

I am naturally disgusted by IU but I feel for their plight the last decade. Same shitty road IL has been cruising on.

Illinois has just flat out sucked. Indiana has at least had glimpses. Twice B1G champion and #1 team in the country the majority of 2012-2013. Tom Crean was just too much of a spaz to keep it consistent year to year.

IU was relevant under Crean at least. You guys haven’t made the last 6 tournaments. That should never happen at a place like Illinois.

Thats true. Knocking #1 Indiana out on a last second layup was one of our only bright spots in the decade

So Illinois has beaten Michigan twice, Purdue twice, and Wiscy and PSU on the road, yet we're behind all of them in the NET rankings. Throwing away two games to Missouri and Miami has really hurt us.

Make some calls for sure, but it isn't a guarantee to let him go.
It would have to be done quietly behind the scenes with Beilein giving a full on commitment to taking the job. Then you can Miller and sign Beilein immediately.

Haven't read yet but i've been saying its too soon. I don't know if he's the guy yet but you don't jump ship so soon.

A year from now its either a ton of progress, nowhere near the bubble or the coaching search begins.

Heart says I'm hopeful once the Crean guys are gone we see an uptick in culture and we see tons of progress with growth from guys like Rob, Armaan, TJD and Hunter. My head, well, I have no freaking clue what happens. But I do know he'll get to at least year five.

Pretty good stuff here.

Jay Wright began his career at Nova the same time as Tommy Amaker came to Michigan.

Similar first three years at the two schools with no NCAA bids (though Michigan may have gotten in the NCAA in year two, but were on probation).

One guy started to crank out a high level program. The other kept his at mediocrity. DeCourcy may as well have used Duke and K as his example rather than Wright.

Indiana still has a flicker of blue blood remaining. Nova never had that stature once Wright started coaching there.

I think Archie deserves one more year, but in the slim chance Beilein wants to come then you make the move.
