***Official B1G In-Season Thread***

I feel for the kid but is it fair for everyone else? So he doesn’t get to play college ball and will have to sit out until he’s drafted in the lottery and signs a $5mil+ contract. Poor kid. I do think more needs to happen to Penny and the school. Until then it doesn’t matter to either. They got caught on this one but the others sneak through. It’s a calculated gamble and the odds are in their favor.

what I liked about the game
1st they held SIUE to just 8 OR this is what hurt them last year
2nd Garza had 20 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks in 26 minutes this is what I was hoping that Cook would do last season
3rd balanced scoring 3-5 all had 9 points
the spread was 20 points and they won by 27
4th 9 steals as a team.
SIUE shot 22.2% from 3 and caused 18 TO's

now for the Joe T stats, 15 minutes, 9 points, 2-3 from 3, 1 assist, 2 steals and 1 TO. the biggest question going into the season was his ability to have range past the 3 point arc. nice start and expect him to finish his 1st season @37+% on the season.

Jordan looked good 19 minutes, 9 points, 4 assists and 0 TO's

now its on to DePaul,

Purdue’s string of 7’0+ dudes continues haha. Just landed Zach Edey who goes 7’3 285.

Northwestern's best guard is a lacrosse player. So yeah, makes total sense that they would lose to a school that lost by 20 to Maine just a couple nights ago.

Northwestern it’s 2 for 2 on drives ending in TDs today, they had TDs in their previous 44 drives.

Northwestern averaging 6.8 ppg in the B1G and already have 14...looks like Purdue should invest in a new defensive coordinator.

Defense looks like it is running in quicksand. Strange as that unit had shown promise the last 3-4 weeks.

The Neo-Nazi looking nut job has to go
I still like Holt, D has been inconsistent this year but that’ll happen when you’re playing freshman and talentless guys like Theineman. Defense has been pretty good since the 2nd half of the penn state game, besides the start today obviously.

Honest question. Why is Brohm after 3 recruiting classes playing freshman and talentless guys on defense?

That first TD was all on Thieneman. Should’ve never been anywhere close to a long gain.
It's not all on him when the Front 7 parted like the red sea allowing the RB to get a full head of steam into the 2nd level.

He’s really only had 2 recruiting classes. He’s playing freshman because of 1) injuries & 2) the guys he’s recruited are more talented than the few upperclassmen Hazell had.

And the few upperclassmen Hazell had who are talented are mostly injured.

Walk on QB killing us
A lot of people clamoring for Brohm to just run the clock out at the end of the half there (most of them after the fact of course). I’m fine with being aggressive and going for it, in fact I prefer that. But why the fvck are you punting on 4th and short in your opponent’s territory multiple times then? Just odd.
