Just realized Wisconsin got UVA as their 1.
Wisconsin has a path to make a run.
If we can shoot, yes. If not, no.

Except they’re not even favored in their first round game as a 5 seed lol
Frankly, Va Tech with Justin Robinson scares me more than Duke

Right but KSU is very beatable in the second round and UVA is the best 1 seed for matchups for Wisky.
Thats the bracket of chokers in UVA, Tenn, and Purdue (the top 3 seeds). Wouldnt surprise me to see mayhem in that region.
He doesn’t recruit unless it’s transfers anywaysJust tell The Mayor don't go recruiting in Minnesota.
That's our backyard.
And we're all good.
Could have a 2000 style rematch.
Ahh, who am I kidding. We all know painter can't get past the Sweet 16.![]()
The only current Big Ten coaches to get past a Sweet 16 are Izzo, Beilein and Archie, right?
Head coaches, you meant. The only current Big Ten coaches to get past a Sweet 16 are Izzo, Beilein and Archie, right?
New to the site/thread this year, but I think I learn fairly quickly. Saw this on The Ringer this AM and thought of this board.
"Just imagine a controversial call where Valentine brings McCaffery and Cronin together to give them an explanation that neither coach is happy with. Imagine how many times some variation of the phrase “You wanna go, bro?” would be said between those three. They’d start thrusting their chests into one another like they’re in A Night at the Roxbury as they each wait for someone else to make the first move.
By the way, I picture McCaffery being the type to instinctively take his shirt off when he’s about to get in a fight; Valentine as someone who puts on a pair of brass knuckles very slowly just to make a show of it; and Cronin standing off to the side yelling, “You guys are going to be in big trouble when I tell my dad about this!”

Is there an assistant that has? I don't pay attention to assistants.Head coaches, you meant.
I almost dropped that caveat on there but figured the IU fans have had a bad enough last week already.FIFY. Who cares what coaches did elsewhere?
I find it interesting. Coach was successful (kinda) at a mid major and can’t get it done with more resources. Ummm...yeah.FIFY. Who cares what coaches did elsewhere?

Meant to say Gardo as a UW assistant. Is there an assistant that has? I don't pay attention to assistants.
Got it. Yeah, that would open up many possibilities I wouldn't want to research.Meant to say Gardo as a UW assistant.
Figured you'd know since an UW fan responded to your post.

Brandon Brantley got carried there by Big Dog and then proceeded to help injure his back before the Duke game.Is there an assistant that has? I don't pay attention to assistants.
NCAAT matchups was a big reason why, this season with a good seed they could probably do it. beating Tennessee in a 2nd round matchup will be no picnic, but according to some Iowa should be able to beat them with ease because Tennessee doesn't have the right as a 2 seed to beat 10 seed Iowa in the NCAAT because Iowa shouldn't lose to make you stop ripping Fran. Why can't Fran make the Sweet 16?
the last time Iowa made it to the sweet 16 was in the 97-98 season and that coach was run off, 13 seasons the winningest Coach in Iowa's history. also that Iowa team had more experienced players and more talent.blah blah blah blah blah. None of that matters. Fran has had plenty of time and talented-enough teams to make it to a Sweet 16. I mean he's only made it to the second round at Iowa twice. Yikes
Just curious, for each of you guys:
How many bracket pools did you partake in (office/family/college buddy)?
How many total brackets did you fill out?
And, how much money did you spend on it?

that team had Iowa's only 1 n done player. BT FR POY that transferred in
now he has that level of talent and it showed in how this group as SO went 4-14 14-18, then as JR's went 10-10 22-11,
next season as SR's who know how much they will improve. and maybe get a 6 seed or better,
Fran has not got the level of talent that Izzo gets. I like the talent level that Fran is starting to get and where he is getting them from,
Chicago, NYC, Washington DC, even the Talent level in the state of Iowa is improving to the level it was in the 70's, 80's and 90's
TBH Otte, comparable is what I meant. Also, favorable/comparable----not that big of a difference. Just depends on what you were comparing. You went from saying “favorable” to “comparable”. Big difference.
If Fran could avoid the late season collapses that Iowa goes through every year, perhaps Iowa would get a higher seed and better matchup.NCAAT matchups was a big reason why, this season with a good seed they could probably do it. beating Tennessee in a 2nd round matchup will be no picnic, but according to some Iowa should be able to beat them with ease because Tennessee doesn't have the right as a 2 seed to beat 10 seed Iowa in the NCAAT because Iowa shouldn't lose to make you stop ripping Fran.
there were some that said that Tennessee should have been a 1 seed. but yeah beating a 10 seed is impossible. according to some of you experts. on who should win, this is the 4th trip and in none of them did Iowa get a seed that put them into a good position to reach the Sweet 16, 1 seed thru the 6 seed is probably the best seed to make the Sweet 16.
to date Iowa has not got one of those seeds, the last Iowa team who was coached by Alfraud whose team received a #3 seed and they lost in the 1st round to a 14 seed.
so its not just Fran, Dr. Tom reached the NCAAT 9 times in 13 seasons and only had 2 Sweet 16 finishes and 1 Elite 8, but he had better Talent when he took over, as the coach before him had gone to the NCAAT in back to back season losing in the 2nd round both seasons.
the 11 seasons before Fran took the HC's job Iowa had been to the NCAAT 3 times with just 1 win and O Sweet 16's.
now you bitch about Fran not making the sweet 16, this is the 4th NCAAT in the last 6 seasons vs 3 in 11 seasons. with a 5th looking very likely for next season. Lute only had 5 NCAAT in 9 seasons and he didn't make his 1st NCAAT till his 5th season and record his 1st NCAAT win till his 6th season.
Zero...Just curious, for each of you guys:
How many bracket pools did you partake in (office/family/college buddy)?

I get what you’re saying but favorable would imply that iu had a better resume than the other bubble teams which is what I thought you were saying at first, whereas comparable just means you thought they were close to each other which I wouldn’t disagree with.TBH Otte, comparable is what I meant. Also, favorable/comparable----not that big of a difference. Just depends on what you were comparing.
In the end, IU just lost to many games. Beat OSU, and IU's preparing for Arizona St, or someone. Not my local Catholic church.
You know, though...Now that I have seen SJU and Belmonts resume...I mean....Maybe more of an argument that I thought? I mean Belmont's nest wins are Murray State and Lipscomb. SOS is 196.I get what you’re saying but favorable would imply that iu had a better resume than the other bubble teams which is what I thought you were saying at first, whereas comparable just means you thought they were close to each other which I wouldn’t disagree with.

Look at St. Johns....SOS in the 300's. Best win vs Marquette. Went 8-10 in an OK Big East. They were 36 spots lower than IU in KenPom.
I mean, I don't see, aside from the 22 wins, where either of those teams present a better case.
My lord...Did Hail hack your account? Or are you just being stupid on purpose? You went 17-15 with an 8-12 conference record. Give it up.
My lord...Did Hail hack your account? Or are you just being stupid on purpose?
BTW, SJU's went 8-10 in a meh, Big east. yeah they won 22 games. But 14 of those came against an OOC, SOS of 327th.
Like I said....We shit away our chance. Is what it is.
Not at all...What does that help? I'm "triggered " we played like shit vs OSU. Disappointed. But, hey, that's how it goes. Now, just go out, win the NIT.Lol you’re so triggered that Belmont got in.
