*Official* B1G In-Season Thread

If either one of these teams make the tournament, theyll get demolished first round. This is two terrible basketball teams.

Seems as though most teams who play the day before have an advantage otherwise the games are bad early like this one

Has there been a more Jekyll/Hyde player for IU in the past decade than him?
He just takes so many chances. High risk/reward with him. I think that’s why Phinese is such a welcomed player, under control and conservative.

Closest I can think of is Troy Williams. But even he wasn't that bad. I remember the good Troy/bad Troy stuff.

I said starters. But regardless, he’s acting like there was some huge disparity in talent. Think it’s a lot closer than he thinks.

@hailtoyourvictor can probably help. How many four stars were on last year’s team? Five/six? Purdue had four.
I did a rundown of both teams rosters from 247 sports. Here's what I found out:

Michigan:
5 Four Stars
5 Three Stars
Average stars of team: 3.4
Average rating of team: 176.1
Highest rated players:
Matthews rating: 60
Simpson rating: 69
Poole rating: 93
Starting lineup rating: 162.6

Purdue:
4 Four Stars
7 Three Stars
1 Walk on
Average stars of team: 3.4
Average rating of team: 206.4
Highest rated players:
Nojel Eastern rating: 69
Isaac Haas rating: 82
Starting lineup rating: 178.6

Closer than I'd expect, although most of Michigan's numbers are drastically thrown off by 1 guy. Abdul-Rahkman who's a 2 star and has a rating of 434. Purdue's Eifert doesn't have a star rating nor numerical rating, so he doesn't effect Purdue's numbers at all.

If you take out Rahkman's numbers (kinda like Eifert not hurting Purdue's) then the numbers change accordingly:

Starting lineup rating: 94.8
Average Stars: 3.5
Average Rating of team: 150.3

Beilein is the best coach in the nation.period. fulll stop.

As bad as Fran Mc is at defense, Archie is equally terrible at offense. 5th straight year outsidethe top 50. Iu cant score today. Thats awful.

Your posters are a good case study for the Dunning-Kruger effect. Unbelievable the number of you that fit this category. There are like 3 of you that are actually intelligent that post here.

I’d argue 90% of the board is a case study in Dunning Kruger, definitely not limited to Purdue fans. MJ is off the rails tho, no doubt

For the 5th straight year, Archie Millers offense falls outside the top 50 in the country. That very well may prove the difference today if we see an OSU win.

Hey did Indiana’s offense finish outside the top 50?

10 turnovers and bad offense I will take it.

Unfortunately the norm for IU in the BTT

PU posters are true believer of affirmative action.
Painter is a worse recruiter than Beilein.
Therefore, when we discuss who's the better coach, Painter should get bonus point.
Brand matters. Purdue’s brand is not cool. It’s defense lives here & play hard yadda yadda yadda.

Michigan is cool to 18 year old kids. Michigan is Jordan brand, athletic powerhouse, sexy brand.

They’re just different.

You'd think Painter could take some lessons from Brohm though. Brohm has made Purdue football pretty cool in a short period of time.

No, we should follow a line of logic. If you accomplish more with less, how can you also be worse as a coach?
