*Official* B1G In-Season Thread

On the Steve Alford front, @dragonhawk1855 should be ecstatic because they were the team to beat for Xavier Foster, but Iowa St is likely the team to beat now.
by who. not by 247 as they have him 100% to Iowa with 5 crystal balls on Rivals Future cast Foster is 100% to Iowa. your fake uncle?

Yes, my "fake uncle" who posts on our Rivals board under an account that I made in January 2010 as an elaborate ruse to fool you into thinking a 2020 recruit did not prefer Iowa.

The long con is finally paying off!

I just don't get it.

The good thing is IU was likely to go 1-1 this week with or without Robert.

But yeah I mean Race has been out for like 2 and a half months and it doesn't even seem like the kid is going to play this year. WTF.

Rabjohns also made it sound like Race's issue was a lot worse. Like he was knocked TF out and not just a minor collision that Rob had. I've also read that people can react differently to getting a concussion which I take Race's situation as a severe one. Rob's looked about as minor as it gets. F'ing annoying.

I can attest first-hand that the symptoms can present differently each time. In two of the three I had from football I was able to stay in the game and symptoms didn't really start taking effect until the next morning; and in the other I was knocked-out cold and (obviously) showed symptoms immediately.

I just have a tough time buying PSU and NW as top 50 teams
NW went toe to toe with top 5 UM and almost won at a top 25 Indiana team. I think they’re about top 50.

I agree about PSU though, they suck.

Starting to get ridiculous and I'm beginning to wonder about these concussions. He barely hit his head and it's been over 2 weeks already.
Yeah man. It wasn't that bad of a collision. WTF? He's gonna be out for at least two weeks and likely three weeks. Just insane. I don't hear any other teams going through shit like this with their players.

I just think it's a very generic arena. Nothing bad, but I think the success of MSU and the fan support that comes with that success has boosted it up . I'd probably put it around 5th.

Yea I don't think the structure itself is #2 in the conference (almost 30 years old now), but when you add in the Izzone surrounding the court in the closest seats and the success over the years, it is definitely one of the harder places to play as an opponent.

The Izzone is really it’s saving grace. The students surround the court and get the best seats in the house. Also, the renovations they made have been quite nice, like Izzo HOF and the whole new section.

It really depends on what he is judging them on, is he judging the toughest places to play or the best places to watch a game?

To me the toughest places to play in the BIG are;

Assembly Hall
Breslin
The Kohl Center
With Mackey not far behind

If he was talking about the best place to watch a game then I can think of a few places better than Assembly Hall.

For example, I've been to Value City Arena in Columbus and that was easily the best experience I've had watching a college game.

not a con just getting tired of the same ol shtk.

In the article, he says:

Before the rankings, a note on methodology. To me, there are two ways to judge an arena: on the building itself, and on its environment during games. I incorporated both in my rankings.

I think for "environment" - he means the atmosphere during the game. So that kind of goes hand in hand... the more rowdy the crowd is (better atmosphere), the harder it is for the opposing team.

concussions are hard to deal with Iowa had numerous players that missed time for those, but nothing like what is going on here. but in my opinion it is better to be safe than sorry later.

Yeah that's true, if that's what he was judging then I think his list looks pretty spot on.

I didn't realize that saying reality is a schtick, and repeating the same things about 247s votes (which mean absolutely nothing at this juncture) isn't.

Fact is that his Uncle is an Illinois fan that posts on our board, and he knows more about this than you, me, or 5 guys taking their best guess on TOS.

Iowa may win the recruitment, but they're not winning right now. And, I'd be mildly surprised if Fran is the choice from what's been reported.
