*Official* B1G In-Season Thread

I know I was just telling him what helped our schedule this year. He did add Arkansas last minute, hopefully it continues to get better.

Those numbers were NCSOS. It’s currently solid at 97 with the two games this week it will make that number increase but it is still much much better than before. I think that will continue to improve it just wasn’t going to happen right away.

I know it will, it's already been majorly improved.

In just his 2nd year IU already has one of the best non conference resumes in the Big 10.

Lol JohnHoosier calling division 1 Big10 football players scrubs. Isn't that cute.

Tell me, does your mom take your drool bib off after you eat, or does she just leave it on to save time?
Iu football is division 1??? That's news to me!

Please tell us more lies about how you have a wife and kids. Now THAT is funny!
This must be a Purdue fanboy thing. Really weird take here considering I never lied and you have zero way of knowing whether I lied or not.

how do these people decide their SOS Kenpom has Iowa's SOS at 179 and yet BPI has it at #46. so who's right and who's wrong.

Wasn't Crean playing like 8-10 per year. It always seemed like no matter who we beat, our RPI was trash.

It was like that every year almost. You would have 4 or 5 big games and the rest would be the worst of the worst. You can say all you want about Davis but the dude had a set of balls when it came to scheduling.

Is anyone else as excited as me that we no longer have to see that Purdue boxing avatar every time we click on this thread?

So that makes it an okay thing for you to joke about? It’s just odd to see you pretend like gay jokes cross the line after seeing your comments on the flint water situation.
Yeah the joke was in bad taste no doubt.

It was a one-off during a back & forth between you & the Indiana residents.

Difference is SNU would never admit as much and will continue use the jokes. Not that big of a deal. Just figured he’d have something better to throw at me since after the stalking episode.

He's your typical liberal millennial. Does it surprise you?

Actually, I think seeing your actual picture and you dabbing (lulz) on TV just furthered my assumption. Think it's pretty clear to everyone Blaire. Just own it.

@Jaycg15 Thoughts on this? https://www.suntimeshighschoolsport...nois-brad-underwood-recruiting/#comment-34342

Its a pretty shitty thing to be written, obviously someone has an axe to grind. The fact that is already out in the public by year 2 isn't a good sign for Underwood's tenure at Illinois.
Our 247 guy just wrote an article about how misleading this is. Here are some quality snippets:

So let's dive into that... Morgan Park and Whitney Young -- two premier programs with two of the premier players in the state (Adam Miller and DJ Steward) -- began their seasons on Nov. 24 at the Jordan Brand Invitational in Chicago.

Meanwhile, Illinois had just returned from three games in Maui and had a game at home on Nov. 25 against Mississippi Valley State... As part of a stretch of seven games in 17 days with six of them being away from home.

Miller and Steward played at the Chicago Elite Classic on Dec. 1. Underwood and his staff were not in attendance. They were in Lincoln preparing to play Nebraska -- one of the league's tougher opponents -- the next day.

There was the Team Rose Shootout on Dec. 8 and Dec. 9. The Illini hosted UNLV on Dec. 8. It's also worth noting that no player at the shootout had an Illinois offer, which frankly, you could point to as one of Chicago's issues. Not Illinois'.

Meanwhile, it’s not like the Illini presence has completely evaporated.

Assistant coach Chin Coleman watched Miller at a Morgan Park game earlier this month. And that’s one place you won’t hear Illini criticism. If one thing has been made clear in the last 14 months… Illinois and the Irvins are tight.

Coleman and assistant coach Jamall Walker have also visited Whitney Young practices to see Steward since the beginning of the fall. And Coleman will be in Las Vegas this week to see Steward in action at the Tarkanian Classic.

Underwood had his knee replaced prior to the season, and missed a good chunk of recruiting trips because his Dr didn't allow him to fly.

MOB is right about the perception, but he spoke with Piper about why Underwood wasn't able to make the trips, and he neglected to mention it. The guy always writes negative shit about Illinois. Par for the course.

We don't need Chicago to win, and they sure as hell don't send their recruits our way anyway. We're tight with the right people. The Irvins and Illinois are tight.

Disagree strongly with that. Sure, more accolades would have been nice but it’s just hard for me to view last season as disappointing or a failure by Painter. I guess what I’m trying to say is, I have faith in Painter to put Purdue in a position to succeed again and make a run in the tourney.

How many of those 30 wins were meaningful? Maybe the 2 in season wins over a UM team that hadn't jelled yet? Those were wiped out during the BTT.

Losses to WKU,UT,MSU,OSU- I knew that PU would lose in the S16 to 3 seed TT,even before Haas was injured. No where near athletic enough to beat a team like TT...

Half of those schools are shady anyway

This comment from below the article sums Chicago recruiting up well:

Edward Dantes
I’ve been involved with the college game for approx 25 years now. Chicago is definitely the worst when it comes to stuff like this. For some reason the CPL coaches feel entitled (and jealous) of the college coaches in their own state. At every turn they will pour salt on their fellow coaches, complain about certain players not getting recruited and always try to control who gets hired as assistant coaches (especially on mid-level to high major staffs). I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard “Man….if they want to get a player out of Chicago they better hire such & such.” It’s JOKE. It’s the reason Shaka Smart passed on the Illinois job. Nobody wants to deal with these clowns. At the end of the day the best players aren’t staying home anyway – or at least not until the Illini start doing the things that schools like Kansas & Kentucky are doing to land the best talent. Honestly, I’m a little disappointed in the media coverage of this stuff too. They seem to enjoy making the head coaches around that state squirm by this perceived pressure that is constantly being applied by the players in the grassroots movement within Chicago prep basketball. Good luck to Underwood as he deals with this sad dynamic.

You have no idea what would've happened against TTU if Haas hadn't gotten hurt. They wouldn't have been able to contain him at all.

I feel like a lot of dirtiest recruiting goes on on Chicago, I could be wrong here as IU rarely recruits there. There does seem to be a lot of top talent come out of Simeon though.
