Can finally bring this back

The AP poll just dropped and Purdue is #1 again. So why was my first reaction to check the schedule and see when we play Rutgers?

It’s literally called a “play-in game” meaning you’re playing your way into the tournament. You aren’t in it until you win that game.

It's actually called a first four game, which doesn't matter sense they won the game and were in the tournament anyways you gimps.

The early B1G games start Friday and I can't wait. There is much to look forward to this weekend:

Friday:
Purdue at NW - It will be interesting to see how Purdue handles NW's 4 guard offense.
Maryland at IU - Both Kel'El Ware and Julian Reese had great games last time out. Looking forward to seeing them go at it

Saturday:
Ilinois at Rutgers - I feel like the Illini have gone under the radar a bit as they lost to the only team they've played with a pulse but they are talented. Ditto for Rutgers. Which team proves they aren't fools gold? It's always frenetic at the RAC.

Sunday:
Minnesota at OSU - The Buckeyes opened some eyes by playing Texas A&M tough and then beating Alabama. Thornton and Gayle have both upped their games. Minnesota is...uh...not good.

No, I don't. That is the biggest clown show in the history of basketball, lol
You’d lose your mind if Fran got you to a number 1 seed lol. Even if you lost in the first round you’d obviously trade places with us right now haha.

I'd like to see the highest % differential of offensive and defensive 3pt% to make the tournament.
Good question. But I think the better question is 3PA% difference.

I'm just not convinced teams that forego 3P shooting can have consistent success in basketball anymore.

UK fans were roasting Cal because several of his "uber talented" teams were bad 3P shooting teams so they just didn't shoot them. Prior to this year, his last 12 teams have all finished outside the top 270 in 3PA%. Obviously Cal had some successful seasons in there but in aggregate, they've underperformed their talent level. This year's team is 85th and looks great.

Woody's teams so far have been 321st, 354th and so far 350th in 3PA%. What's wild is last year's team was pretty good at 36.8% (39th nationally) and they still didn't shoot many.

with a % of 24 they can keep the attempts low.

Uggggh…...

Hes not gonna make it(3 ball) an emphasis....And IU will be meh. Just waddle along.

And here is the thing....

IU has been the team to make the NCAAT, w/o making threes. Sure IU shot 34 and 36% respectively his first two years.....BUT----IU was also 311th in made(5.9) and 321at in attempts(17) Year one, and much worse in year 2...334th/352nd.

And this year? Yikes.

Percentage is less of a worry than attempts. When you only shoot 15 or so a game, it forces yo to be ELITE or really good, to even make a difference. it does you no good to shoot 36% from three, if you are only taking 15 per game. IU is being outscored 30-9 per game from three....You are not gonna win, doing that. 174-57. My goodness.

IMO this comment shoews just how far out of touch Mike is, with todays game.

IU was essentially 7-18 against Harvard. So improving from the slow start this season.

Would like to see around 20 attempts a game with 7 or 8 made.
I'm cool with not living and dying with hot and cold shooting 30 three attempts a game that some teams are committed to

The fixable issue continues to be IU players being ready to receive a pass with the intention of shooting or providing a legitimate shot fake and drive.

Being confident and shooting when they are a step behind the arc.

Offensive rebounding well enough to get those very easy/open three looks off a board, that every other team in CBB seems to get every game.

Woody rauns nadda for shooters, or to get shots. That's the problem. Everything is off the dribble...or an offensive rebound...or in transition---Or my favo---The chuck to beat the shot clock.

With Reneau/Ware, it wouldn't be difficult at all to get shots...But he(woody) chooses not to. Hasn't in 2+ seasons, and that's not gonna change. Ever wonder why no elite shooters came here? Yeah....

What do you mean by 7-18? The box score says 4-15.

They had 3 shots called threes on the floor and then changed to 2 later on review. Still really dumb but seemingly both the players and refs were getting thrown off by playing on an nba court
