****Official B1G In-Season Thread****

It was 8 1/2 out of 14, Rutgers made the play-in game.

61% > 60%
So did Indiana.

To circle back, my initial response was:

I think the Big 12 would disagree but that's in part because they only have 10 teams.

So in a nutshell, I think the Big 12 has an argument (and they certainly think so as well) and I acknowledge that part of the reason is they have less teams. We are making both sides of the same argument.

Indiana made the actual tourney by winning their play-in game.

Technically, the NCAA has the B1G with 9 teams the last two years. But I will never give a team that doesn’t make the round of 64 full credit.

Just weird that you think they have an argument when the B1G has a higher amount of teams and a higher percentage of teams in the tourney.

They are a close second. But still second.

In the last 5 years, the Big 12 has finished 1st in KenPom's conference rankings 3 times and the B1G has finished 1st twice. It's closer than you admit.

I’m not talking about in the past 5 years, I’m talking about right now. So this year and last year (mainly because we don’t have much data to go off of from this year yet)

If you want to argue they had better depth 3 or 4 years ago, be my guest. There is probably a good argument for that.

Newest AP poll is out

12 IU
19 Illinois
20 Michigan

26 MSU
27 Purdue
32 OSU
34 Iowa
40 Rutgers
46 PSU

Nice to see 9 B1G teams getting votes in a down year for the league.

Sparty will move up after knocking off the Cats tonight...

Always have, TBH....Its an easy argument. Have not tiles since 2000. But to me, thats not the measure of how good a conference is.

They might have an argument our conference is weak, if we didn’t have 6 different teams play in the title game in that span… plus Maryland won a title, although they weren’t part of our conference at the time.

MSU vs Kentucky is tomorrow night btw my man.

Well, ****----Wife is gonna mad as **** at me. 🤣

And just not the 6 teams in the title game, but Big 10 has put a team in 13 of the past 22 FF's. Just haven't won the Big one.

Depth wise, I'd put the B10 up against any conference. B12 has had 3 teams in the title game: Kansas, TX Tech and Baylor. SEC two---UK/Florida. BE---Not sure, mudder****ers change every other year.. Given for that conference is Nova, Louisville(?) Cuse(?).ACC---Duke, UNC, MD, Syracuse(?), Louisville(?)... DOn't know, those two are like ****ing cousins, or someting.

Anyways----Only difference really IS,B10 simply hasn't won a title.

Time for things to start heating up. Outside of the stupid MSU-Gonzaga game (cool concept but wind should not be a factor in a college basketball game), the B1G has fattened up on the soft underbelly of the sport. That changes this week.

10 of 14 B1G teams play their next game against teams in the KenPom top 120. Only Wisky, Illinois, OSU and Maryland get cupcakes up next. The Gavitt Games should give us a better insight into who might be good (or at least serviceable) this year.

As of now I’m feeling pretty confident about the Xavier game but it’ll nice to have a true road game this early in the year

We played a top 120 last game. Green Bay is the first real cupcake. Then it’s Atlantis. Get Dayton then hopefully Kansas. The one team I’ve never seen us play.

I know it was Monmouth, who is bad, but really impressed with Illinois. Fast, quick, lot of speed. Very athletic. Indiana/Illinois is gonna be fun.
Very fun game to watch, even against bad competition. We’ll find out a lot about how ready a young/new Illini team is when we take on #8 UCLA Friday and #5 Baylor or #16 Virginia Saturday in Vegas!

Has it been confirmed that Virginia will play?

21-22: Rutgers
19-20: Iowa and Minnesota
-----------------------------------------------------
18-19: Beat Penn St and LOST to Northwestern
17-18: LOST to Illinois AND Michigan State

You are beating the absolute bottom feeders. Which is no surprise.

If you want to schedule Illinois again, we’d be happy to kick the shit out of you like usual.

not fair. We can't kick the shit out of you since you have your own fingers shoved up your @ss preventing any additional feces from escaping via @ss kicking.
