Well you contradicted yourself today so why not clear it up for us?

Preseason: you thought jones would be worse than Smith

Today: you expected Jones to be better

Which is it?
I didn't say I expected Jones to be better than Smith. I said I expected Jones to be better than he is. As I've said, Smith's contributions were far greater than counting stats show.

You said “we expected Jones to be better” than he’s been, when he’s been on par with Smith.

Make up your mind.

Either you expected him to be as good as smith or you didn’t.

That's your interpretation. I see a guy not doing Smith's role as well as Smith against bad competition.

Your constant attempt to lace ulterior meaning into statements for that "gotcha" moment is boring. I'm pulling out of this. You know where I stand, and if you need further clarification, I guess that's just too bad.

Jones through two games vs Buffalo and Prairie View:
8.5 points
5.0 rebounds
5.0 assists
1.5 steals

Smith through two games vs Bowling Green and Oakland:
9.0 points
6.0 assists
2.0 rebounds
0.0 steals

You’re reaching if you’re going to try and split hairs between those opponents and lines so far. They are and have been similar level PGs through every stop so far (their mid majors, the G league camp, and at Michigan)

So either you’re full of shit when you said you didn’t think he’d be as good as Smith this offseason or you’re full of shit when you’re saying you expected Jones to be better than he has been. I don’t really care which one you admit to I’m just glad to point it out.

Imagine dealing with him every day in real life? Has to be exhausting.

I’m honored that’s something you’ve thought about but I can assure you I’m not interested in dudes.

Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

We’ll obviously dearly miss an AA like Ayo this year, but I’ve long thought Trent Frazier, individually, would shine without him. He was our leading scorer and go-to guy before Ayo, and (despite his fantastic defense) he never seemed to find a groove after that. He’s playing really well.

Hes playing really well right now. Has sort of taken the game over the past couple minutes.

Trent Frazier is who Eli Brooks dreams he’ll grow up to be

I got convinced that Curbelo was the best player at Illinois practices by someone here and it apparently made me completely overlook Frazier.

You don’t think so? He fouled out in 6 minutes last game, so he looks much improved this game…

I dont know if you're watching, but he came in after sitting on the bench for a while and committed 2 fouls in 30 seconds.

Idk if you’ve been watching all season, but he hasn’t been good in any of the 3 games.

The amount of times I’ve fallen for the “best player in practice” thing for MSU is far too many. We were told Aaron Henry was the best player in practice the 2019-2020 season when he was the clear car and away 3rd best player in the end.

I’m about to follow MileHigh’s lead. This thread’s death is inevitable at this rate.

Morsell with 3 straight games over 20 points- what is this, the twilight zone???

1987 made the comment. I correct his take about eastern. Boilerzz tried to defend his buddy by listing Eastern’s Kenpom rankings but accidentally listed their Tempo instead.
Yeah,I didn’t say anything about Bellarmine but I did drunkenly misread KenPom.

I haven’t watched much of this game but when I have, Illinois looks better with Curbelo on the bench.
Yeah, looking like he hasn’t lost the cobwebs from his concussion. Bad game.
