What are your expectations of Gillis? Imo, if Painter wants to waste a year of eligibility, he will play him 5 minutes or less per game.

I’ll give you this, for having no idea wtf you are talking about you are at least confident based on supposed free board material. My expectations are he’ll play around 8-12 minutes per game filling in for Wheeler. He won’t be asked to do much. He’ll be fine filling in at the 4 spot.

He’s not going to redshirt because he’s literally the only backup 4 we have. I get it you’re from New Castle but Painter & staff would be actively pursuing a grad transfer forward if they didn’t think Gillis could contribute this year. I'm not from New Castle, so that's a weird comment. I was just piecing together the facts. He hasnt played a game since 2018. He still isnt cleared. It will take time to get back in game shape after he is cleared. Even if he weren't hurt, his ranking doesnt suggest he's an instant impact guy. Given all of that, I have a hard time believing he doesn't redshirt.

Yeah I don’t see what his weaknesses are really as a combo guard. Can get downhill, shoot, guard multiple spots, rebound for a guard. Not sure how his handles are I guess from the limited video I’ve seen.
