Def congrats on the pickup! I do think something is strange with this recruitment though (and would still feel that way if he picked Purdue). He's a blueblood guy with all of these big-time offers and his final 5 are IU, Purdue, WVU, Syracuse, and Cincy? Seems odd.

Yeah I don't pay enough attention to football recruiting to get into that stuff. Anytime a top 200 player wants to commit to IU I don't care about strange, cheating or whatever. Just get him.

and you are a total moron as these are the 4* players on the roster
PG Toussaint out of NYC by ESPN
PG Jordan by ESPN
SG Top 100 by ESPN and 4* by Rival Connor
SG Moss by ESPN out of Chicago
SF Wieskamp top 100 by ESPN and #42 overall by Rivals
SF Patrick top 100 by ESPN and Rivals
C Garza top 100 by ESPN and 4* by Rivals out of Washington DC,

that makes 7 4*'s by ESPN and 4 4*'s by Rivals,

to say that Fran can't/won't sign any 4*'s in the 2020 class is assinine to say the least.

Please show me one time where I said that. Go ahead give it a shot. I'll wait.

Well, not you guys. The officials and that pass interference call. And lots of holding by your line

That's fair. If it was truly down to IU/Purdue, I'm guessing IU used the "you can be THE guy" angle pretty hard with him. Think that was a good way to play that card after you guys lose Westbrook and Hale.

every time you say Iowa/Fran has no shot, you say this EVERY TIME I list a 4* player that has a offer.
take you outright hatred and shove it where the sun doesn't shine.

If Purdue thinks what Auburn did to them was bad, just wait until this season.

Revenge game

He was a pretty good decoy since Terry Wright torched you guys for 146 yards and 3 TD's. Similar to how Mahoungou torched you in Iowa City the year before.

Torched like Auburn torching Purdue type torched, lol.

The difference last year was the holding. Our D Line lived in the other teams back field all season, but yet Purdue's O Line was that good? Wrong.

The officials let you hold on every play.

No worries. It won't happen at home this season. You guys are gonna get raped

last season the starting DB Ojemudia was out with a injury and FR Moss started in his place, that yes he beat up on a true FR who most consider will be a SS.

this season RSSR Ojemudia is healthy. this season you have to replace the QB that beat Iowa in back to back seasons, this season after spring training, the defense looks even better, if that's possible as the Defense ended up 6th in total D, 7th vs the run and 15th vs the pass.

the defense returns 17 of the top 22 players.

2017 7 catches for 135 yards [scorches Iowa defense] not really] 24-15
2018 6 catches for 146 yards in a 38-36 win.
neither were dominating wins,

the recruiting sites that predict where players are going. right Now Tulsa is the only school that Thompson is projected to go to Tulsa.

but the only one that can say where he is going is the kid himself,

Iowa loses these
F Kriener
PG Jordan
SG Moss
replacement as of now will be these
PG RSJR Connor, SO Toussaint
SG JR Wieskamp, RSSO Fredrick
SF SO Patrick
PF SR Garza, RSSR Pemsl
C RSJR Nunge

so the cupnoard won't be bear for the 20-21 season, getting 5 players in the 20 class will provide backups at the SF and C spot with 3 to come off the bench in the event of RS'ing, injuries, blowouts and foul trouble.
the 18-19 season saw these RS due to injuries
RSFR Fredrick broken ribs from trying to take a charge from Cook, can't question his courage but I can question his thinking in doing that.
RSSO Nunge originally to gain weight and muscle mass to endure the physical BT play then suffered a fractured leg bone
RSJR Pemsl had season ending knee surgery right after the Iowa State game to repair a prior surgery on his knee,

Iowa went from 12 scholarship players to 9 scholarship players, BOTH Nunge and Pemsl were starters now they are back fully healthy Pemsl was overweight at 265 lbs and now weighs 235 lbs
Nunge is now 250+ lbs up from 220 lbs, he has been practicing playing with his back to the basket on offense,

So Bryce would go to Iowa to be the backup vs going to Texas, Oklahoma, Tulsa, Kansas.. ouch.

It'd drastically change my perception of BThompson.

Is that the coveted all-white Iowa team? I'm sure that will make the vast majority of your fanbase all moist.

If IU went 7-6 this year that’d be historical. Sad and funny at the same time. Also pretty happy with the new commit

I think IU absolutely needs to make a bowl this year or Allen’s seat will start to warm up.

Why? I don't think it should warm up if he doesn't make a bowl. It'd be different if we went to a bowl every year historically and have missed the last few seasons or if he wasn't making visible improvements. I think he deserves more time even if he misses a bowl this year.

With the recruiting uptick and general standing of the IU football program, I'd absolutely give him somewhat of a leash barring a couple atrocious seasons.

Yup. If he gets back to winning a game or two or something like that, we can talk. Otherwise, gotta think it makes sense to give him a bit of time like you suggested.

Your non-conference slate is comically easy so he likely only needs to go 3-6 in Big Ten play to reach a bowl. Is that too much to ask of a 3rd year coach?

Bryce will be competing with SO Toussaint and RSJR Connor for the PG spot,
Connor can play the SG/WG position. with Fran there is no backup its a rotational mentality, remember Jordan will graduate in the spring.

also Cook picked Iowa over Kansas but I see you are still butt hurt over that, Garza chose Iowa over Louiville, Georgetown, Indiana, ND, along with 16 other schools and he came all the way from DC.

Fran has been recruiting better the last couple years, just in case you missed it these are the current top recruits by ESPN and Rivals
PG Jordan 4* by ESPN
PG Toussaint 4* by ESPN
PG Connor 4* top 100 by ESPN 4* by Rivals
SG Moss 4* by ESPN
SF Wieskamp 4* top 100 by ESPN 4* #42 overall by Rivals
SF Patrick 4* top 100 by ESPN and Rivals
C Garza 4* top 100 by ESPN 4* by Rivals
that make 4 4* players by both services and 3 4* by ESPN, they lose Jordan and Moss. they also graduate Kriener,
PG Berry could replace Jordan
Thompson could replace Moss,
the prospect are there for getting major minutes as FR are there to be had
Foster would replace Kriener then be a starter as a SO.
