Winston definitely deserved POY but saying Carsen didn’t make others better is incaccurate.
He averaged 3apg-----took damn near 20 shots per game. Aside from himself, who the fcvk did he make better? Sure his presence allowed others opportunities. But that goes for any good/great player. In other words, Cline and others benefited b/c of his presence---not b/c of his willingness to pass, i.e.making others better.

Well no nba draft experts would agree with you about taking winston over carsen. Switch the two players and msu still easily wins a big ten title. I honestly doubt Purdue would have with winston leading us.
And no NBA draft expert would agree with you about taking Carsen over Romeo. Yet, you argue Carsen is better.
Im not so sure MSU is the same with Edwards. A volume scorer/shooter on that MSU team makes them very different. WInston on Purdue,is another story. His ability to pass---and willingness, really would have benefit Cline, Williams, Wheeler, etc, etc...They would have been much more involved. Opposed to chasing down Carsen misses, and then getting theirs.

Happened two years ago but came out with new info today. Mainly a new sketch on the suspect.
That's MJ.

No shit, that’s how he made others better. You just said he didn’t make others better but said others “benefited” from him. Not sure I see where you disagree.

C'mon, dude. You are splitting hairs here, and you know it. Others benefited from Carsens presence on the floor. Hell that goes for a multitude of teams/players. They benefited b/c of his scoring----Not b/c of his willingness to pass, i.e. making others better. There is a difference between a player benefiting from another player, opposed to being better because of a said player. Winston made others better because of his passing....sharing the ball. Facilitating. Not the same with Carsen. And you know this.

How so? You do understand the difference, right? Carsen was a scorer. A volume shooter. His style didn't make others better, i.e. passing ability, play making for others, etc, etc...Tell me, Otte---How many times can you recall Carsen driving, then kicking out----Or dumping a pass off? Not many. Its probably why he only averaged 3 apg----while dropping 20 FGA per game. Any player of his caliber(scoring), is going to open up opportunities for others. But not b/c of is passing, facilitating, etc.etc....That would be a guy like WInston. Who not only scored(18ppg), but got others involved, allowing them to score(those are called assists). He did so at a clip of almost 8 times per game.

Dude, you see the difference----Or so I hope. I'd like to think you are just "yanking chains" here.

He went out on a limb. He is high on Illinois and picked them 2nd. I like a writer/columnist willing to make a bold pick.

Better than the previous three pages of the thread arguing Romeo is a better pro than Carsen. Or is it Romeo is a better college player than Carsen? Or Carsen makes the players around him more better than Romeo? Or was that Cassius?

I won’t get confused about who the writer picked 2nd.

Ummmm, sure. One guy made players" better" by----shooting alot? Another did so by being a very good passer, facilitator---ANd to you, thats "splitting hairs"?Laughing

Otte my man......Tell me you are trolling. Please.

I said Cassius was the better player but that Carsen did make others around him better. He didn’t do it by facilitating, no. He did it by working his damn ass off when he was off the ball. No one cut harder/made the opposing defense work in the big ten like Carsen could. No one was used as a decoy on a play as much as Carsen was in order to open another teammate up. No one drew as much attention from opposing defenses as Carsen did.

That’s making others around you better, even if it doesn’t count in the box scores. Now I’m not saying he made others better as much as Cassius did, just saying that he definitely helped other Purdue players. Whether you want to split hairs & say he didn’t because he wasn’t a facilitator, that’s on you.

You’re up early. No doubt you’re on breakfast duty at McDonalds. Now get back to making those egg McMuffins little brother.

Candidly, I think he’s a high school student. It’s obvious from his post he lacks the emotional maturity to have a reasonable back-and-forth.

I'm shamed by Chicagoans for never having eaten at Portillos. I have no excuse though. It's supposedly good fast food.

I always thought it was... ok. I don't really like Chicago style "hot dogs" (with tomatoes and shit on them) but I do like Italian Beef that is popular there.

Chic-fil-a is just really good fast food. I think they and Panera are the only 2 corporate chain fast food places that don't get a "F" score regarding their quality / cleanliness.

Any IU fans wanna talk baseball? Looks like IU is the only shoe in for an at large at the moment. Probably Michigan too.

IL, Iowa, and Nebraska have some work to do.

That's because Iowa sucks balls at baseball. Pretty much like every other sport.

Solid first year with Mercer. He is going to be a good one and hopefully since he is homegrown IU can stop being the stepping stone for perennial powers. Just having Rolen around the program is huge and he should clean up the recruiting around the state with his previous jobs.

Yeah, IU is building something. You have made the NCAA 5 of the last 6 years. Not so much a stepping stone anymore and their is an advantage of playing in the Big 10. Its easier to win, lol.

I didn't realize your coach left. Where did he go?

I used to be a Scott Rolen fan. Now? Ehh

errr you do realize assist are only record when the catcher makes a shot don't you.

I have watched other game where a player makes a perfect pass only to see the player miss, dunks, bunnies or wide open 3's. so using the assist to judge a player is awful foolish,

since Heller took over Iowa has won 1 BTT and made the CWS PLAYOFF 4 times in 6 years, before he arrived Iowa baseball was nothing. this season they are 23-15 9-6 BT and have won 4 straight series 2-1. the latest was the Fuskers.

so yeah Iowa really sucked at baseball.

just read that the Hauser brothers announced 4 schools that they are going to visit in alphabetical order
Iowa
MSU
Virginia
Wisconsin,

didn't even know that Fran as been in contact with them, this came as a complete shock to me,

don't know much about either one, a quick recap would help like can 1 or both play right away of do they both have to sit 1 year before they can play?
