Carsen>Winston. Winston seems like a good kid and is obviously a solid player. But carsen is flat out better. Should have won b1g poty. He was robbed.

Carsen shot 35% from the field and 30% from 3 during conference play. He averaged far more turnovers than assists.

Winston shot 46% from the field and 38% from 3. He had a 2:1 ast to turnover ratio.

By thinking that you have 4 more guys that are good enough to be added to the current 8-man rotation. After Cook left, that leaves you with 7 from that rotation. Nunge will fill that roll. There aren't three more guys that will get significant minutes.
Pemsl started 15 games as a true FR then the season before he RS'd these were his stats
16.4 mpg T-5th in scoring, 144 rebounds 3rd on the team behind Cook and Garza. shooting 56.5% from the field, 2nd on the team behind Cook. 67.1% from the FTL vs Cook who was 66.1% from the FTL. you can't tell me that Pemsl can't/won't play and play 15-18 mpg if not more,
Patrick is a top 100 4*, do you really think he won't play meaningful minutes.

they lost Baer, Cook and Dailey, in their place
Cook/Pemsl
Baer/Patrick
Dailey/Nunge

actually Iowa gets a upgrade to the team this Fall by adding 2 former starters that finished in the top 5 in scoring and rebounding, then former walk on Baer is being replaced by a top 100 4*

PG Toussaint is a bonus and he is the 11th man
CG Fredrick is a bonus and he is the 10th man
this is why I am in favor of Fran banking them if he can't find the right GT.

rethinking player replacements
Dailey/Fredrick
Dailey was the backup to Moss at the SG position and these were his numbers
12.4 mpg, 2.5 ppg shooting 35.2% from the field, 75% from the FTL and 20.8% from 3. again there is no reason to expect Fredrick him to get more than 12-3 mpg, this will depend on how Moss does. foul troubles, injuries or increase/decrease in production. this is not overrating the additional players

2 were former starters in Nunge and Pemsl, Patrick is a top 100 4*, Fredrick led his team to the Kentucky lone class Championship. named the MVP of that State Championship Playoff.

these are upgrades to the team,

Averaged far more turnovers then assists? Not true. He averaged 2.9 assists to 3.1 turnovers. While not great, you're statement simply isn't true. That aside, carsen averaged more points, steals, and blocks then Winston. All while being the entire focus of the entire opposing teams defense.

He should have averaged more points----Carsen took almost 200 more shots than Winston. For the season, Winston averaged 18ppg, 7apg and 3 rpg....Carsen was 24, 3 and 3. As for having more steals and blocks. Yeah, Carsen had 48 steals to WInstons 40. 10 blocks to Winstons 4. Huge difference...

Carsen was great. Especially in the NCAAT. But....I'd take Winston 7 days a week, and twice on Sundays, over Carsen. Edwards was a scorer man. A volume scorer. He didn't make other better. WInston did.

IMO, Winston deserved POY.

Well no nba draft experts would agree with you about taking winston over carsen. Switch the two players and msu still easily wins a big ten title. I honestly doubt Purdue would have with winston leading us.

Winston definitely deserved POY but saying Carsen didn’t make others better is incaccurate.

I'm a troll because i said carsen is a better player? Get real, the only troll here is you.
No, you are a troll because you said he got robbed. Any reasonable fan of either fan base could argue the merits of both for POY but to suggest that either would have been robbed had they not won it would be comical.

NBA draft experts? Lol. Who cares. We’re talking about college ball.

Carsten Edwards the best scorer in the Big Ten (even though he had some mightily inefficient games. Cassius Winston was the best player.

The fact that none of your fellow Boilermakers agree with you here should tell you something.

Do you think Purdue wins the big ten with cassius instead of carsen? I honestly don't. On the other hand msu absolutely would have won the big ten with carsen. Most likely would have won the title outright too. Cassius is a better distributor. But that's the only thing he's better at then carsen.

I do. I think Carsten is a great scorer and makes them around him better, but Cassius Winston elevates players maybe more than anyone I’ve seen at PG in recent memory. I don’t think Goins, Henry, Tillman reach the levels they did without him.

That's not enough good players for an eleven man rotation still.

Carsen makes players around him much better as well due to his ability to score from anywhere on the court forcing teams to concentrate on him. He lead us to an elite 8 and b1g title with grady freakin eifert as a starter. Cassius had a much better supporting cast around him.

this is the correct answer.

Fair point. But you act like Cassius didn’t score as well. He averged almost 20 on much better shooting splits than Carsten. And had a far better assist to turnover ratio. And lead a very injured MSU team to a Big Ten Title and Final Four. I think taking MSU’s injuries into consideration, Carsen may have had the better, or at least similar supporting cast when Langford Ward and Ahrens were all hurt.

I’d still take Cassius, but I think there is a good argument for Carsen.

So based on your own logic, Romeo Langford is a far superior player to Edwards considering Langford will likely be a lottery pick and Edwards will be lucky to stay in the first round.

Why anyone responds to John hoosier is beyond me. The guy is laughed at by Purdue fans haha.

I'll bet you naming rights on your next screen name that you don't play 11 men for more than 15 mpg and greater than 15 games. If I win, you never have to hear me talk bad about Fran again.
never said that 11 men will play more than 15 mpg
showed what Dailey did BY playing 12.4 mpg
Kriener played 13.8 mpg
the starter
Cook 31 mpg
Jordan 31.1 mpg
Joe 27.7 mpg
Moss 24.1 mpg
Garza 23.6 mpg
the backups
Baer 19.1 mpg
Connor 18.6 mpg

after that NOBODY played more than 13.9 mpg in dbl digits
Kriener 13.9 mpg
Dailey 12.4 mpg

so you better copper your bets. on how many players will avg over 15 mpg.
