In-state recruiting is not even close to a problem with Archie...yet. A better season than last is needed for that to continue though.
I don't get it. They are basically just like UK but with better instate talent, yet UK seems to get all the better players

Until Archie, IU didn't have food catered in for after practice. They had locker rooms that had not been renovated since Knight. The kids still lived in shitty dorms.
IU has been living in 1994 for quite awhile. UK has evolved and invested in their program where Indiana said "well if Knight could do it."
And add in bad coaching hires of Davis and Sampson and keeping Crean 4 years too long, this is what you get.

Dude, that is bullshit. Each school has more than enough money to cover their AD and give back to the school. IU must take more than other schools.
We have remodeled Kinnick 3 times, Carver, fixed up the baseball stadium, put in a football facility, upgrade some women's sports, and overpaid coaches.
We do make a lot of money outside of the BTN though.

Yeah, that sucks. It helps push us over the hump in a lot of areas. That is why we put so much back into it. Outside of tickets, it drives donations to.
Its crazy, kids do t really care anymore about the name on the front, but how nice the dorms and lounge areas are. It's a different world these days. Oregon started all this shit.
They are very nice. The school president plays a massive role on the funds. Mitch Daniels actually cares about sports and understands the importance of athletics to a university, especially Football. Indiana's current president McRobbie, does not understand that and gives zero shits about sports.
I would think they would help recruiting. Man, if you guys werent in the Big 10 East, I would say sink every dollar into football because it usually always pays off. But you guys have the deck stacked against you. Massive football schools to compete with. But you have to start somewhere. Own Rutgers and Maryland and Purdue, then target Sparty and PSU
IU might be the only team in the conference without a "football only facility" IU has done a pretty solid job renovating Memorial Stadium, and they do have one of the largest weight rooms in the country, but it includes all sports (besides basketball who has their own). Other teams use that against IU football for sure.
Glass likes to preach 24 teams 1 university bullshit, but then IU basketball literally doesn't share a thing with anyone.
Men's basketball and football should not be sharing a damn thing with any other sport.

IU just dumped a lot of money into football, Locker Room is getting renovated now, so the football only facility is not coming anytime soon without a major donation. No one is providing IU football with a major donation.
It shows that the university does not care about the sport.
Oh no doubt it’s easier than OSU/Mich/PSU but they’ve struggled mightily in their rivalry with Purdue. Could it change? Of course. But it’ll take a lot for that to happen. They had a golden chance when we hired Hazell and didn’t take advantage of it.
Win big one season and watch the donors step up. They need a taste of what is possible.

Our AD is a moron from the standpoint of operations and contracts, but he understands how important our AD is and he can raise money.
Fred certainly knows to raise money. I think Fred is hamstrung by the administration above him. The overall athletic program at IU is pretty solid, but we all know which two sports actually matter.
Sports are funny. It literally just takes that one good coach to get things moving forward, but it might take 20 years to find that coach.
PU football is a good example. I thought they were doing damage to their program they could never come back from. Sure enough they found their guy and look to be positioned well for the future.

Actually they were 4-0. I didn’t phrase it right the first time but what I meant to say was you guys had a chance to elevate your program when Purdue was in the midst of the Hazell fiasco and build on the things that Wilson started. Instead, Purdue hired Brohm and passed IU after year 1.
