Blah It’s pretty useless. For instance, Yale has more titles in all sports and revenue sports than anyone in the B1G and will continue to do so pretty much forever. We’ve gone through this already.

Nobody remembers who wins the conference title. Nobody cares unless you’re on some incredible streak like Kansas.
Most people don't even know who won the natty 5 years ago off the top of their head. What's your point? Conference championship is still a big accomplishment.

I agree about With you about conference championships too. Lets just dissolve all conferences since the regular season means nothing, and have one big tournament where every college team participates. Nothing else matters. Why have the regular season at all?
This. But I get the response from Purdue fans (some), they don’t know any different. Conference titles are all they have.
Of course people care about national championships more. But if nobody cares about conference championships, why do teams and their fans celebrate them every time they win one?
I guarantee Maryland fans will care if you ever win one. Maybe not you but you'd be in the significant minority if not.
I think this would be a really good lineup. Turge seems to like size, so I doubt that's a starting unit, but could see it being used heavily as games go on. Would help some of the offensive issues IMO.
Wiggins is the guy I'm really interested to see this season. I think he has to start for you guys.
I didn’t say I wouldn’t be happy or it wouldn’t be an accomplishment, but it’s not the ultimate goal. You guys just harp so hard on the conference title thing.
I'm pretty sure no Purdue has ever said it was the ultimate goal either so perhaps you are engaging in a bit of hyperbole based on a preconceived perception?
We get you all don’t think it’s the end goal, but you all sure pump the conference championships to seemingly be more than some others here see them to be. That’s all.
That’s because Purdue has won a lot of conference championships just like IU has a bunch of dusty old banners, which you pump up. Yale also has a bunch of dusty old championships in revenue and non-revenue sports that I can pump up. It is what it is.
Maybe not the ULTIMATE goal, but at least one Purdue fan here said conference championships mean more to him than a national runner up would.
You have 2 more conference championships than IU in mens basketball. Yet, you don't see IU fans bringing up conference championships as often as Purdue fans. Why is that?
Side note: Half of your conference championships were won prior to 1940. That's a much bigger collection of dusty banners than IU's.

-Purdue will average 101ppg, shooting 60% from the field
-Painter will win coach of the year for the 5th time
-Purdue wins the national title & I die of alcohol poisoning that night.

And in the eyes of certain posters here, one person saying something is an opportunity to paint an entire fanbase with a broad stroke.
I'd switch Elite 8 and Conference Championship. I'd also switch S16 and Conference Tournament Championship.
And in the eyes of other posters, unless everyone in a fanbase says the same thing, then basically it's one person only and doesn't represent the majority of the fanbase that posts on here.
