*Official* 2017-2018 B1G In-Season Thread

Who cares? Mgkcbb thinks MSU will suck and won't even be top 10 in the conference next year because of who we lose. Most of the posters on this site, myself included, are morons.

Yeppers. All of is let our fandom get in the way of reasonable thinking a time or two. I wasn't sure if UM would make the tourney. I certainly didn't expevt them to be this good; though I did feel Mathews would be a big get for them. The biggest surprise is their defense.

One has to wonder if the committee screws over Michigan State with seed and location after Paula Lavigne's Pulitzer Prize worthy masterpiece from late January.

Mark Hollis was the committee chair and he just bailed on the team mid season. That cannot go unpunished.

I kid....sort of.

One way to entertain yourself during a championship week empty of Big Ten action is to check out Nebraska fans on Twitter or other forums.

Those bumpkins will not believe a THIRTEEN win Big Ten season will possibly result in a NIT. They have basically rationalized anything and everything (except James Palmer's buzzer beater at home to beat the mighty Illini) .

I mean in fairness, it is crazy to fathom a 13 win Big 10 team not making the tourney. I know the conference is down...............But I mean, 13-5 in the Big 10 is still 13-5. And they did beat Michigan by 20. Beat Minny before they became a dumpster fire.

Then again, they lost to St John's by 23. So there is that. Still........Weird to even discuss if a 13 win Big 10 team is in or out of the NCAAT.

13 shitty wins is 13 shitty wins. B1G way down outside the top. We have better wins than Nebraska. They beat no one all year.

Sure they did: Michigan. And did so by 20. Also beat a then pretty good Minny team. You win 13 games in a P5 conference, IMO you should be in the NCAAT. I mean look at St. Mary's. No way is the WCC better than the Big 10. Yet at one time they were seen as a 6 seed.

13 shitty wins or not, it should get them in. But it won't.

It's no worse than the WCC. Look I wasn't arguing they should be in.Wasn't agreeing. Just sahying it is weird to even have this discussion about a 13 win Big 10 team.

It's silly season time!!!!!! Sucks that our season is over but excited about our future. :D

This kid has oodles of potential.

I want to avoid Nova and Duke and find Xavier, Gonzaga, Virginia. I’m neutral on playing Kansas.

There will also be a lot of non traditional teams with high seeds like TxTech, Auburn, Cinci...id like to see any of them in the S16. Not used to the bright lights.

Kansas appears to be MSUs most favorable matchup. Just feed the post down low and get Udoka Azubuike in foul trouble and who is going to guard JJJ and Ward the rest of the game?

I think MSU would be a terrible matchup for Kansas.

Youve been pretty hot this year Borden with the Morgan prophecy coming to fruition and St Marys call a month ago when they were a projected 6 seed.

Im not used to you being right about anything ever. Apocalypse nearing.

Nebraskas best non con win was a close home loss to Kansas.

Been seeing on twitter that up to 5 Iowa players will leave the program for different reasons and 2 assistant coaches. Don't know the coaches, but the players listed were Tyler Cook, Maishe Dailey, Isaiah Moss, Brady Ellingson and Ahmad Wagner. First 3 would be a huge blow making Iowa the pick to finish in the basement of the BIG in 2018-2019

That would certainly continue the suck fest that is Iowa Basketball.

Ideally both MSU and U of M would be in the Midwest. It probably would be the first time ever in its brief existence that little caesars arena would be full.

NCAA screwed MSU and UM from both getting LCA this year by having two plains cities be host sites. Only one will get LCA.

The NCAA committee has also said they can move a team up or down a seed to get them in their hometown firs and second round. They use discretion, not just a hard list with no exceptions.

Only thing is that Graham is the type of guard who can eat up Winston. But yeah--KUs front court would have major issues vs us.

Pretty good read on MGoBlog about how Purdue tried to counter Michigan and Michigan adjusted. This is why I've said Michigan is a terrible matchup for Purdue. We were fortunate to be shooting well in the first two meetings and just outscored them.

Just like PSU is a bad matchup for OSU...UM is a bad matchup this year for MSU and PU even though PU is 2-1 vs UM.

MSU and PU fans are overreacting to conference tourney games that never have a bearing on NCAAT success. 5 of the last 6 champs didn't win their conference tourneys.

Last two times MSU won the BTT and were considered title favs, they didn't make the FF.

MSU, UM, and PU are all legit national title contenders.
