New thread because New Bombshell tweets

It's like people don't remember us being beat over the head with "you guys are ruining college basketball" during Cal's first few years here, literally non-stop.

It’s like UK fans don’t remember calling Cal a cheater when he was at Memphis. Remember that dirty program and who coached it and left before the NCAA came calling?

You know these horndogs on this forum will let @KisteK sit wherever she wants...

You started one and done? Bahahahaa
Finally someone addressed this.

Kansas fans are cheering on a cheater. Have fun.

A little testy after your school was brought up in the FBI investigation?

What does any of that have to do with the topic of whether or not UK started the one and done recruiting strategy? Careful not to pull a muscle with all that reaching, bud.

Well considering that Zion is currently on your roster... it was either yesterday or Monday (I don't follow the trial on a day to day basis.) Or are you arguing that Zion is not a member of the Duke basketball program?

Correct. Zion is on Dukes roster.

I’ll ask again. Where was Duke mentioned in this trial?

A current member of the Duke basketball program was mentioned as asking for money, thus Duke's basketball program was mentioned. You are being intentionally obtuse, and it is stupid.

Can you prove this assertion or just more internet rumor?
That post just took me down a rabbit hole of searching Durham County Deed Records.

Nothing came up on Williamson but Coach K sure was active back in the early 1980's. My favorite is that he bought some land from Tarheels. Pretty boring otherwise. Look like he must have put everything in an LLC or some Trust around then because he's gone soon after that.

Edit - Guess that link doesn't work. Just trust me. Winking

Yep.... it was "Cal is ruining college basketball w/OAD's." When K started getting in on the OAD's it was "Coach K has adapted to college basketball landscape." (or something ridiculously apologetic like that)

Do you not think that makes Duke look suspect?

Actually no. I honestly don’t. And if it’s proven otherwise I’ll eat crow. But I’m not going to assume guilt. I’ll need more than Ku was willing to pay so Duke was too. That doesn’t work well in this country. Going to need some hard evidence.

Actually you’re being obtuse and stupid.

Ku offered money to Zion. Not Duke. But continue being an idiot. Smfh.
"One of our players is on record asking for money from a school he didn't go to. There is no way this could possibly have any negative effects on the school he committed to". -You

Yeah, okay. I'm the one being obtuse and "an idiot". This is not a difficult concept to grasp. Proof below

1) Zion is a part of the Duke basketball program.
2) Zion was mentioned in the FBI investigation.
3) Duke was mentioned in the FBI investigation.
QED

I would expect pretty much any functioning adult to be able to apply basic logic.

Well, there's not enough there to say 100% that Townsend or Kansas actually offered him anything. What he wanted was just relayed to Townsend who responded with something that just makes them look sketchy.

But there's enough there to suggest that Duke could have possibly given him money since that's what he wanted from Kansas. It's probably what he wanted from every school. There's no smoking gun but it's certainly not a great look for Duke.

Haha. Fair enough. Regarding Zion and Duke I do not feel any money was gifted to the family from Nike or duke.

I was more concerned with Bagley. But he’s gone so I’m good for now.

And it's not like there is a title to vacate... goddamnit.

Again. There is no proof that Duke was involved with anything shady regarding Zion. If we learn he was paid in any way I’ll eat crow. But I refuse to assume guilt just because others were willing to cheat.

It is what it is. Hopefully more and more FACTS come about. Not internet speculation.

Jealousy is a hell of a thing. Makes people say stupid shit. Reminds me of some others now.

No one said Duke definitely paid him. If he was paid by anybody he is ineligible. That affects Duke either way. You are arguing against a stance no one is taking.

I’m not a blind homer in any way. I know how shady sports are at the collegiate level.

Regarding Zion there is no proof that he was paid or given improper benefits before or after he committed to Duke. Could his family have been shopping him around, sure. I’d be naive to think otherwise. However I think once all this NCAA stuff hit the fan his family decided it wasn’t worth it.

If I’m proven wrong, so be it. But until then it’s just speculation. That’s my stance.

Does Duke take a chance by playing him?

Who claimed that it had been proved that he was paid? You took offense to the statement that Duke was mentioned, which they were. All the strawman arguments in the world won't change the fact that a member of your squad was mentioned.

No thanks to your shady dirty rotten sponser and staff. Unreal that dark cloud Ku and Adidas have put over college hoops.
