NBA Bubble Thread

Westbrook would be significantly more efficient if he only attempted layups and dunks on fast breaks. He’s a great rebounder, a blur in transition, and an underrated playmaker. But damn, the dude needs to stop shooting mid range jumpers and pull up 3s.

Imagine if his standard stat line was 12 points (on 5 shots), 11 rebounds, 13 assists.

Agree. His shot has always been broke.

If the Lakers shoot like this consistently, hand them the title now. I mean seriously, where did these threes come from for Rondo?

One thing great about sales. We all high five coming to the sideline.

rondo shooting reminds me of a school not named UK.

Now that the Bucks have lost, the NBA Finals look like it will happen between the Celtics and one of the two LA teams.

If Ilgauskas/Gooden are your 2 and 3 yes, it is a trainwreck of a roster...well, at least not one that has any business getting to the Finals.

Hughes was a mess that year. Either hurt or mental issues (or both). Going by memory, I think it might have been because of death of a brother.

LBJ left an even better roster and they became the worst team in the NBA.
This roster is no better than the one Jordan dragged to the playoffs in his first two years. You are a great troll or an idiot. The East in Jordan’s day was elite, far better than the West. I’d say the Bulls had so much success in the Finals because they had to beat better teams to get to the finals. Conversely, LeBron enjoyed a very weak East for his entire career. And let’s not forget, Jordan made the playoffs right away whereas it took Lebron his 3rd year.

The key argument in this debate was always look how bad the Cavs were once Lebron left. That argument was nullified when he got the Lakers last year as the best player in the world and didn’t make the playoffs.

Umm, I don’t really have a dog in the fight but your last statement is pretty silly since Lebron was hurt much of last year and they were in like 4th place when he went down with injury.

The Bulls went 30-52 when MJ was hurt his second year. Sure they finished 8th and made the playoffs but only because 16 out of 23 teams made the playoffs back then. Chicago was 8th out of 11 in the East and still made the playoffs.

1. You do have a dog in this fight (as do I). You are a big LeBron fan. And that’s ok.

2. lol at LeBron injury. He had a pulled groin. He shut it down because he was going to win shit last year. Jordan came back from a broken foot for the chance to make the playoffs.

It's weird. As much as I'd like a UK player to get a ring. Especially Davis, and as much as it's in my nature to root for a dynasty....I find it hard to root for the Lakers.

just root for the Heat. Herro/Bam > AD/Rondo since Rondo already has a ring.

you tried to compare dragging a team to the playoffs to getting to the Finals. I stopped reading after that.

what pearls of wisdom I missed for stopping when I did.

wow...seeing just how irrational you can get I see. One of those guys who I'll never say "no way you'll ever top that" to.

Trying to ridicule Lebron based on injury? Really?

Ok, so dumb. Got it. It was fun watching @IUfanBorden dismantle your arguments.

We can just stick to MJ (even though applies to Magic)......so you think he wants to win more as a player than he does as an owner? Even though as an owner he can profit more if they win more? Please answer A or B

A) Yes, I believe he cared more about winning as a player than as an owner

B) No, he cares just as much as an owner but maybe sucking at his job instead of being arguably the best ever is why he had success as a player and none so far as an owner.

Im not gonna argue that he doesn’t suck at his job, who can.

Im saying his “killer instinct” on the court isn’t something that trickles down from the press box.

Even if you don’t call it that, or don’t think Jordan’s competitive edge is a reason he is the goat. He was 6-0 in the finals, so he delivered when the lights were the brightest. So maybe it was more clutch than will to win. Regardless it’s the reason he is considered to be the goat by most, and not Lebron. You can say it was bc of pippen or Phil or whatever, doesn’t change the stats.

UK gives so many choices.

Love that tweet. Now I'm trying to figure out who all the players are.

OU 3: Trae, Buddy, Blake
Texas 4: Myles Turner, KD, PJ Tucker....would Jaret Allen be #4?
UCLA 4: Westbrook, Lonzo, Jrue. Who's #4? Ryan Anderson?

Duke 6 = Tatum, Kyrie, RJ, Redick, Zion. Who's #6? Seth Curry, Reddish?

Louisville 2 = Mitchel and Harrel

I’d quite engaging him on Jordan topics. He’s clearly an idiot or troll. Regardless, he has an agenda.

Did ya see how I was able to use logic and reason to make you look foolish? You know, by pointing out how absurd it was to try and compare getting a team to the playoffs and one to the Finals?

see if you can do that instead of calling out for IU to be a lifeline.

did he forget how clutch he was or his will to win pre scotty? Also something you cannot change.

are you really suggesting he had this incredible will to win on the court, but not when winning actually means more money for him.....a lot more?

Big Lebron fan? You must have me confused with someone else. I’m a Golden State fan.

if idiot/troll = able to make my point/refute others with logic, facts and reason while being able to see both sides in the discussion I'm guilty.

Let's see what I have said in this thread....
*Still think MJ the GOAT but Lebron in the discussion and has time to pass him
*I do not like Lebron (but appreciate what he did to help my team win a title) as he is a narcissistic drama queen

Yeah, I have the agenda. some of you might as well just say MJ good, Lebron bad.

Didn't know where that came from....I guess to some if you will not bow down to all things MJ you must be a Lebron fan.

No dipshit I’m saying his attributes as a player don’t mean jack shit from the press box.

so, yes, for some reason you think he has an extreme will to win as a player, but not when his performance could lead to a lot more money if done well.

Makes sense.

Ya gotta love this forum. Yosemite sam-like namecalling reply in 3...2....1

It's a new day and you didn't go off the Irrational Rails so I will reply again.....Not gonna mention as a rookie Lebron led his team to more wins the previous season than did MJ and won 36 games, while MJ made the playoffs once with a 30-52 record? Lebron has never lost 50 games in a season.

Glad you at least remembered he had Pippen in that first Finals trip (never mind he had another couple guys who might have been the Cavs second best player) and knew that was fair to remember.

as for 2010 Lebron, wont get a disagreement from me. As I have mentioned numerous times this is the one instance MJ makes a difference as he would not have cared about Wade and would have made it clear he was The Man.

Can we get back to MJ and Magic wanting so badly to win, but how it only helped them as players and not execs?
You seem somewhat intelligent. I mean just b/c you are good as basketball, doesn't mean you are gonna be good at running team. Or can coach....So on and so on..I don't know why you are so hung up on this...I do believe somewhat by now, you are trolling to some degree. Then again, maybe you are not?

Nope, LeBron has never lost 50 games in a season...Those are facts. What else is facts is that MJ never lost in the playoffs with a 60+ win team. LBJ did so----TWICE.

I know........I know----Pippen. True I guess. But hell even when LBJ got his Pippen + 1(Bosh), he still managed to lose twice in the FInals. So to me, that kinda of squashes the "MJ had PIppen theory". After all, LBJ had Wade, Bosh and Ray ****ing Allen, and still managed to lose(Finals).

BTW, LBJ led Cavs lost 47 games his rookie year...Winking Not 50...But hey, tomato, tAmato..

If you look at the number of 50 win teams MJ (even Kobe) have beaten in their post season careers vs LeBron, it’s kind of mind blowing. LBJ has benefited from an average at best eastern conference for most of his career.

During lebron’s impressive run, I’m willing to bet most years he had teammates that were top 5ish in the eastern conference

As for your first comment, it's not that he is good at bball (which we all know), it is my thinking that is why he had so much success. Not because of some obscene will to win. As mentioned, if that was what it took one would think he'd be better at the job where if he wins he makes a lot more money. But in that position one could argue there is no one worse at that job.

and, FTR, I am not saying Lebron would be better. I would not want him as GM or owner of a team I cheer for.

My opinion when it comes to Lebron/MJ is pretty simple....Lebron went to more Finals because east was weaker. MJ did better in Finals because he played weaker competition.

and, no, does not excuse Mavs loss, as that is an albatross and/or anomaly.

agreed.....but LBJ has played better teams IN the Finals...especially when he was here.

Damn good teammates on the cavs in his second run. Problem was year 1 he lost Love and Kyrie and only faced a team many have argued are among best ever. Only time they played at full strength the Cavs won.

2 other things I took away.....Ray Allen not even close to all star level in Miami, and was surprised Rodman only made 2 all star games.
