Every team has to have their “survive” game. Except Nova last year.
I like this UVa team and still have a decent chance to claim a nice payday if they win 3 more..... but this Purdue team looks like a bad matchup, both on the court and in the hearts of the karma gods. They've got eight decades worth of bad luck equity that I think they're about to cash in.
And UVA doesn’t have bad luck to cash. I forgot how much of a potato poster you are.
Oregon showed they had they talent to be a top 15 team all year, just didn’t figure it out til the final stretch. Still a good year all considering
Again, IU sucks. I'm over this season and am just patiently hoping for a bright future. Bragging about the past three years is about as pointless as me bragging about dusty banners.

UVa only began their tough luck journey about five years ago. Purdue's been snake bit since 1940.
I sat through those 13 years too. I know Bennett has his issues but we're not getting a better coach than him at UVA. Ever.
Good point. Bennett is light years ahead of Pete Gillen or Dave Leito

If there are, I'd think there'd be a tidal wave of support for him telling those idiots they need to fall back. He's a top 5 coach.
Thanks man. It was not pretty at all but I'm just really happy to get the win. You guys played excellent defense all night. We had difficulty with your length. Can't imagine how good you would have been with Bol Bol healthy the entire year.
Nah most UVA fans understand what we have with Bennett. Obviously, he's not perfect and some of our fans are way more entitled than they should be. But 99% of us are very happy we have him as our coach. We just hope he gets rewarded in the tourney for what he's turned us into.

Thank you. I didn't watch a lot of UVA vs Oregon for obvious reasons but congrats on the win. Good luck vs Purdue. I think he likes it here but we'll see.
He'll get it done eventually. It's only a matter of time, assuming he stays. which I think he will. I know a lot of IU fans that see him as the model for Miller given their defensive scheme and similarities.

But I can't remember exactly.... because I was high.
Gonzaga is my #2 team. I don't know if that counts. I picked them to make the Sweet 16 in the 1999 NCAAs and I've never looked back for some reason.
For the first time this season, Few finally had Hachimura playing significant minutes at the 3. Rui and Clarke are clearly the two best players on the team - so with that being the case, it can be hard to find minutes for Tillie. Glad he finally went with the big lineup. Tillie is a solid interior defender/rebounder and he's a better outside shooter than Kispert. Feel bad for Petrusev who's played really well this season, but with Tillie back in the lineup he's had several DNPs.
Anyway, Gonzaga is 2-1 vs. the Top 4 of the ACC (UVA is 2-3 for comparison). Stinks that Cofer and Nichols couldn't play. No question in my mind that there's a significant difference in production between Cofer and Gray. Honestly, I feel like playing Koumadje and Kabengele simultaneously would have been a better option than giving Gray 20 minutes of action.
Pretty damn impressed with that team, future looking bright for you guys.
Agreed, I live in Charlottesville and am Prez of the Cville Seminole Club. I drag a group of FSU fans over to JPJ for our biannual punishment, great arena and atmosphere.
You might be right about Koumadje and Kabengele. And there was an obvious plan to get Koumadje the ball on lobs early. But his two fouls in 90 seconds pretty much ended any chance of that happening.
But yes, RaiQuan, while an intriguing piece for the future with a very unique skill set/body type, he clearly was not ready for this type of elevated role. And the other thing about Cofer is (that most outside the ACC just don't know), he's a career 37% shooter from three. So just having him on the court forces teams to respect his outside shot, which creates more space for guys like Mann and MJ Walker to slash to the basket. He was a big, big loss in this game.
