March 28th Sweet 16 Thursday game threads

I just rewound it, I don't personally think that's ever a foul, he kicked his leg out, now maybe if he really bumped him you can see it being called, but he kicked his leg out to create contact. Crap of a call to me.

To me, if you kick your leg out the foul should be on you. I think the NBA even had to make a rule to mandate that to stop players from kicking their legs out. Neither team has enough talent to win it all anyway, unless they shoot better from the FT line.

My point is, they won't call that on Duke, UNC or Kentucky, but they call it on Tennessee. So the refs are inconsistent. Wuss call, let em play. The drive to the basket where the ball went out with 4 seconds left had 10 times more contact !! I thought that was a foul.

Good game, but this is why I prefer the NBA. It's just a pet peeve, CBB to inconsistent. I have no skin in the game anyway, I got Virgina going to the Final Four. And my bracket is crap, LOL.
If he had just hit the leg, I’d agree. But he made contact with his midsection.

That Haarms guy looks like a huge douche. Can't figure out who the refs are rooting for. Shit calls on both ends.

Funny you mention that he’s 1A or 1B for punchable faces in the B1G. Discussion starts around here.

B1G Top 5 punchable faces?

Haarms
Davison
Iggy
Bruno
Garza

This will have to be the lowest scoring couplet of games in S16 history.

If you like points, these later games haven’t been for you.

Also, who was the clown that put Gonzaga on for the early time slot?

Night hasn't been good to me. Lost a FF team in FSU. Elite eight in Tennessee. Was 3rd place with a solid chance of going into the FF in 1st. But now I am likely eliminated.

No idea if the ball was off Carsen’s foot or not but I’m certainly not going to assume the refs got the call right. They called both of these fouls on our hottest player:

It was god awful. Both teams had to adjust to god awful officiating.

In the FSU game, they got away with reaching, holding, all kinds of stuff for the first 35 minutes of the game. Then they started calling every little thing. Very inconsistent in those two games.

Man, UVA is chucking up some really heavy concrete blocks from the outside.

Yeah, those were bad. There were just as many equally bad calls on Tennessee as well, including the first two fouls in OT on them. Not real sure what the point is. Purdue won and deserved it. They made the plays when they needed to. Kline was ridiculous.

Just a general comment on how bad the officiating was.

I just see a lot of things that they do that well coached teams don't do.

They settle for threes way too much, they are loose with the ball and their guys are not very strong individually on defense.

I mean, Koumadje has been playing ball long enough to know that you have to wall up with your arms straight in the air, but he brings his arms down every time.

Then he does stupid shit when he's going after rebounds. He's like a bull in a china shop. He's way too important to make those mistakes. When he gets the ball down low, he's phenomenal, but he needs to play smarter.

You don’t watch us enough. Your assessment is way off.

192nd in country in 3pt attempts/FG attempts.

6th in ACC in turnover%. Not elite but not bad. Less than 18% of possessions. Turn it over less in conference play than Kentucky did. Fewest percent of steals given up in the league.

Top 10 defense that is strictly man to man. Pretty hard to say we don’t have good individual defenders. Top 30 in country in steal percentage. Top 75 in blocks. Led the ACC in 2 point percent defense. Just held Gonzaga, the number one 2pt percent team in the country, to their lowest percent on the season.

Oh, are you still stewing over what I said? I thought we moved on from that.

It's just my opinion man.

Last 5 minutes of that half killed Oregon. Have to regroup at half

UM is toast. Ok team but mentally weak as hell. Brazdeikis and Matthews can't miss when they're rolling but can't make dick when they need it. And Simpson's running Jabbar shots are useless against an elite D.

The epitome of wilting under pressure. Complete frauds.

That's a pretty disappointing performance for a John Beilein team. I always expect his offense to be a well oiled machine.
