***Kansas @ Kentucky Gameday Thread***

I think too many KU fans are waving the white towel too early. While we do look to be hitting our stride here lately, inconsistency is still somewhat of an issue with this team, especially on defense.

KU has the talent and coaching to win, but I expect a close game regardless. Cats by 5
We just can’t hit from the outside and Lawson plays no defense. Without dok we don’t have the ability to control the paint. If you can’t control the paint you need to hit threes—-and we only hit 5 or 6 a game.

Love the kids, will cheer them regardless. I don't dry-hump the brand bc I'm a fan tho. I don't see the drive with this team that we've grown to know with the previous ones.

I leave the fanboy ish to others.

UK has a fun team this season, go out and getcha some great wins!

F’N A COTTON, F’N A!!!
Well said!

It’s not an un-winnable game by any means but I feel Kentucky is the better team right now. If KU can limit the number of times they shoot themselves in the foot then they will give themselves a chance.

I forget....why does uk get two consecutive home games against us in this challenge?

UK played @ WVU and KU hosted A&M last year. It probably would've been UK @ KU if they hadn't played in the Champion's Classic last year. I'm sure it will work out in Kansas' favor next time. UK @ KU next year, Champ's Classic the following year, UK @ KU again the year after that.

Self has screwed himself with his recruiting last few years. Too many 1 & Done players plus too many transfers. There is no Mason or Graham type leader on this team. Vick is the closest this to a Sr leader KU has and he wanted out of Lawrence. KU has a lot of talent but just don't have anyone to run the team.

No, you missed the point. Games are played. They are won or lost. It is a horseshit argument to say "well....if you disregard the time period we weren't very good".......then you clearly don't have an argument. It's not our problem if you didn't field a good team then. Don't play if it's an issue. Or, play, and don't make excuses for your shortcomings. No, it's I who isn't surprised you missed the point entirely.

So in conclusion, 22-9, suck it long and suck it hard.

His point is simple: if KU and Kentucky played every year, you would not see a great disparity.

Kentucky does not dominate Bill Self. They didn’t dominate Roy Williams or Larry Brown. And they would not have dominated Phog Allen. They dominated Ted Owens. And played a million games vs him.

Is what it is. In the end, who cares? Yet you guys throw it out 6 times in every thread as if it’s the greatest accomplishment in basketball history.

Although we could def use the AFH advantage tonight—it might be a good thing that it’s in Rupp. Save us a loss in afh. We can look really sharp at times, but we just haven’t looked fluid at all and with Kentucky playing their best ball of the year.....game at home.....i think uk should win this game unless we somehow have guys hit from three. I’m scared we are going to look really slow tonight.

At least one player will be on from deep, guaranteed, so don't worry about that aspect of it.

And yet, you continue to make excuses for it. "We had a rough stretch in the 70's" "Recently we were unfortunate that we had to play some of Cal's best teams." Excuse after excuse for losing. Just own it.

AFH refs! AFH REFS!!

God I hope. We have to work from ahead or we risk getting buried. Can’t wait for it to get started.
The Cats were in a habit of starting off games terribly almost all season until the last 2 games. They still haven't figured out how to put a full 40 minutes together.

Neither have our guys. The 40 minute game has been one elusive pest.

I’m trying to watch this game on ESPN3 on my laptop. It takes me to the West Virginia game. Is that what’s happening on tv too?

Shouldn't they just cut away from this game to that one like they did with Duke?

Sure enough. ESPN has changed the way they cover games this year for sure.

Not sure why in the hell Grimes just doesn't keep driving toward the basket. Went way too far to kick the ball back out.

Kansas is going to have to shoot the 3 better than they have all year if they’re gonna win. Need something to neutralize the Kentucky advantage on the glass

Back about 8 years ago Big 12 fans in CDT that were very interested in the Texas-Kansas game missed about 8 minutes of basketball for a Syracuse-Providence game that was a blowout. I think providence just kept fouling them at the end. Both KU and Texas were ranked in the top 10 and Syracuse was like #18 and Providence was unranked.

They used to never switch over or even show the game on a different channel.
