Many thought, including myself, these might be the two best teams in the country to start the year. Obviously Duke and Tennessee and a few others look better to this point, but still a top 10 match up of blue bloods none the less.

I think UK takes this one after dropping three in a row to KU. Cats seem to be playing better and better each game, and KU really seems to be missing their big man.

I said we would go 2 - 1 against Duke, UNC, and Kansas this season. If I end up right, I will GLADLY take it.

I think UK pulls this one out; we're progressing, plus UK hasn't been owned by anyone longer than X # of games. It's just simply time. Who knows though? All it would take is one off day by one of our players and one of theirs to go off, which isn't all that uncommon.

KU looks like a YMCA team right now. Nothing fluid and everything is looking forced. Only way we are competitive is if we are hitting our 3's. I don not feel good about this game as I have the last few years. Just hope to be competitive at this point.

When we have a sizable lead, it evaporates within a matter of minutes (2-3 minutes while up by 10+ points) so pulling away is not a strength at all this season. I do think KU plays well enough to stay close but I also expect UK to pull away for a 10-12 point win. KU’s lack of focus in key moments as well of a killer instinct is what’s going to hurt them in the end.

Won't surprise me if Vick has another game where he can't miss from 3, goes on to set a new career high in points, and KU wins by 1.

I think KU could/would win with a healthy Dok Azubuike but I think we get run in this one.

Lawson's a real good PF but he's the only post guy we can count on. Vick mostly sucks although admittedly he does play his best games by far vs non-con opponents. Dotson and Garrett are good but limited. Grimes honestly kind of sucks, he has no confidence right now and just gets abused most games.

KU will be up for this game no doubt. KU will hit 1 or 2 scoring spurts where there’s the look that KU might be threatening to push a lead out, but they don’t stay locked in enough to maintain. The Hagans/Dotson matchup will be fun to watch. Hagans is easily one of the best defenders in college basketball and Dotson is becoming a floor leader. Neither player plays like a freshman.

I never know what to expect from Kansas. They're supposed to lose this game. But Kansas is like a better version of Syracuse (not knowing which team to expect), so I assume that means this will be a KU win.

Even with our dok, I expect this to be a good game, especially if grimes and Vick are hitting shots. It’s going to be a good one. I only think ky wins, is because of the rebounding advantage. If they had dok it would be a different story

Also worth mentioning, the last time I felt good about a big game was November 6th.

I do know that at least one dude was sick on Tuesday, so hopefully he doesn’t make the rest of the team sick by Saturday.

I still don't see the consistency from the Cats required to consistently put good teams away. They're improving, but not there yet. So it's really more of an indictment of UK than an endorsement of KU.

3 of the last 4 opponents (Auburn being the exception), held under 60 points.

For all the talk earlier in the season about defense, KenPom now ranking UK's defense at #11.

Defense, rebounding, and Hagans establishing himself as the point guard and leader are the key ingredients for the way they're playing. Not seeing KU coming out of Rupp with a W as a result.

kentucky wins essily. ku can’t win a game like this on the road.

Think they might’ve been a year early.

Kansas loses by double digits. Without doke or SDS tonplay the 5 Lawson can’t thrive at the 4 and has to play the 5. They’re much easier to defend now and they don’t shoot the 3 as well as they usually do which exacerbates the problem. Defensively they can’t defend the 3.

I’d Be surprised if Kentucky doesn’t win at home and lead by 7-8 most of the way with Kansas just trying to keep in the game

I'd say UK has the edge with it being at Rupp. Neither team has been real impressive but UK has been better of late and KU is without Azubuike now.
