I've spoken with Bert many times---Hell of a nice guy. Really is. But his basketball takes, man. I get it though. Hes been around. Has saw a lot. But hes very, very bias toward his Cats---Like unhealthy biased---and sort of "crazy" in that sense. His hate for IU is real. As genuine as it gets. But shit, we all are like that to some degree---But difference is, we can get past that, and tell it how it is...
I loathe Purdue. But the facts are---well they have been much better than us lately; although Woody is changing that.
I really like Bert, and hate that he thinks differently. But his UK love keeps him from being a better poster on here.
I think maybe the "nothing to gain" comments may not be about what you think it means.
I can't speak for the ones saying it, but it’s possible they just mean they don't want to go down that IU road gain. Been there, done that, there's nothing left to conquer.

He's smart, but it's the whole I'm going to judge millions of people I've never met based on who they cheer for, those guys wearing IU shirts 60 years ago who were assholes, and from a game that he never attended, along with everyone else who brings that game up. I was at the game, there wasn't but a 100 or so Kentucky fans in the entire building. Never saw a bad thing done to anyone, again other than the entire stadium chanting fvck UK. Hating an entire fanbase because of some perceived slight that never happened is one step away from racism/sexism/ageism. Fanism. It's wrong.
UK fans biew IU in a different light than thdy do KU. The hate for IU is stronger than it is KU.
