IU and UK fans. It's time.

"This information has been referred to the Federal Communications Commission for further investigation of the potential violations related to applicable federal communications regulations," Polikov said.

Polikov did not say where the seven individuals reside or where the two media outlets are based.

About 3,000 phone calls came in to Higgins' office in the two days after the game. Sheriff's investigator Matt Barrall estimated 75 percent were from Kentucky area codes.

🤣 🤣 🤣

But, but IU fans spit on us...

NO ne said IU is fautless. I am sure there were some fans that were not very nice. To act as if it were some type of Ruby Ridge massacre is hilarious.

Referee John Higgins has received death threats from Kentucky fans following UK’s Elite Eight loss to North Carolina on Sunday, ESPN’s Dana O’Neil and Jeff Goodman reported. The threats, which were made to both his home and an unlisted home phone number, prompted Higgins to meet for several ho...

If you were asked to officiate a Kentucky game, would you do it?

O'Neil and Goodman are hardly sources.

I kind of think UK fans get targeted b/c we're known for being one of the more classier fanbases. So it stands out.
When other fans do it, it's just par for the course. Hence no one talks about them.

NSFW chants are normal in other arenas.

Well, am I wrong? You rubbed '9-16' all over their faces over there and made it out the other end nary a single scratch.

Now, if I went over to Peegs and did anything remotely close to that, how long would I survive? 10 seconds?

Know what's funny? I just got banned on RR. Not sure which one of my posts got the job done, but yep, they banned me. Truth hurts sometimes I guess.

It is possible everything from all fanbases is true. Spitting, slur words, death threats, etc.
When talking about all fanbases, none are above having an asshole member. None sums up the whole.
Me thinks a lot of feels got hurt that December, night...

I've been to about, meh----7 or 8 IU/UK games---And nare an issue. Sure the regulkar banter---the, "you suck"---"go **** yourself...:---Although mostly UK fans :) .

Games at FH, where the beer was flowing---smoke breaks at halftime---IU/UK fans surrounded by one another---And rarely an issue. And these were heated , intense as **** games.

Do I think some fans acted a fool? Sure---And I'd bet most were students. If not all.

Again, shot went in----And well.......................

If that shot misses?---Odds are very high IU and UK are still playing---Well, maybe. JC knew Iu had a monster coming back in 2013----he wanted no part of that shit---especially in Rupp.

Hard to ban someone for speaking da thruth....And lets not get carried away, now---"Rubbed it in their faces"?---Naaaah. I just brought it up, as a reminder----Especially when they wanna say dumb shit like---"UK has nothing to gain, playing IU..."----Thats just dumb.

Have you ever seen us rush the court?
So thats having class?

Also, your student section has what, 300 kids---barracaded by the goal? Not to mention, those capable of rudhing the flloor, are at the top of RR---Those at floor level, can barely walk---much less run...

So that's a no?

Was the Watford shot the biggest moment in the IU/UK series for IU fans?

IIRC I think UK was #1 at the time.

I think that was most of our points. Except for the F UK chant, that was literally the entire arena. I'm pretty sure the old lady's next to our season tickets were shaking their first and chanting it.

All I know is hardcore groups who go to a lot of away games say after the last game they will never go back.

I guess we will find out in 5 years.

I do hope the new and improved NCAA pairs us together in the NIT.
The better team gets home court.

We have some potential matchups before these games.

Two of the top 10.

  1. Warning: Video contains NSFW language.
Infraction: Fans of a blueblood program rushing after beating an overrated Fighting Illini team.
As an IU basketball fan, this is one of those moments that all the bourbon in the world can't wash away.
In the midst of an institutional trough, the embattled supporters of Indiana basketball let temporary excitement get the best of them and rushed the court after defeating No. 20 Illinois in Bloomington in 2011.
It was a rare cathartic moment for a people who had suffered long in the post-Kelvin Sampson era, but rushing the court after beating a Bruce Weber-coached team is something these eyes can't ever un-see.

  1. Fans of a team with five national championships in the rafters rushing the court after beating an unranked Minnesota team.
I went through the Dark Ages of Indiana basketball.
For some reason, the universe declared that my college experience at Indiana would take place during the worst four-year span in the basketball program's history, and I know too well how low things were in the post-Sampson era.
That being said, I'll never be able to justify the tepid court rush that took place after the Hoosiers beat unranked Minnesota in 2010. The Golden Gophers weren't even a top-five Big Ten team.
As I've written before, it was so inconsequential a win that I can't even find video of the rush.

But those old folks spend a large about of money for those seats. Indiana does not have the old rich folks willing to pay big bucks.

It sucks to support a failed program.

In the 2012 NCAA Tournament regional semifinals, the next meeting of UK and IU, UK toppled IU 102-90. That is far better than a lucky last second shot on your home court. F IU.

I hope the deal falls through.
