I'm curious about all sports, but especially changes in any given sport, particularly college basketball of course.

College all sports UK.
MLB, NFL are both Cincinnati
NBA I've been more of a fan of certain players, than so much so, any particular team.

I was all over the place as far as location. I have been a Duke fan from childhood. It was the late 80's before I actually understood it enough to be into it.

I was a Hornets fan and a Magic fan as a child. But I was pretty young when I quit seriously watching the NBA, so I don't take claim to being a fan of a team. Just watch it for entertainment.

I was very briefly a baseball fan. But in my brief time watching it, I was an Orioles fan. I still go to see games every few years or so. Camden Yards is a great place to see a game and the Harbor at Baltimore is a cool place.

My NFL team is the 49ers. And the only reason is because my very first NFL game was a playoff game between the 49ers and the Giants. My uncle was a big Giants fan and NY won that game by a bunch. I chose to be a 49ers fan because I hated my uncle and I have always been too stubborn to change teams.

I really only take Duke basketball and 49ers football seriously. And have recently been getting invested in Duke football. It's easier to do when your inspiration isn't for them to just win one game anymore. But to have winning seasons and win bowl games. And now, hope to beat Virginia.

Same. Being a Bungles and Reds fan is hard.

Being a UK football fan was hard.
I think it will be pretty hard again next year. I have pretty much zero confidence in Wilson at QB, especially without Benny in the backfield. D should still be fairly solid, at least.

Kansas Jayhawks are really the only team I follow closely. Football and basketball.

Then probably Texas Rangers and Oklahoma City Thunder.

Were you joking about being a OSU fan in the coaches thread?
No. I grew up in OKC and my mom is an OSU alum. Eddie Sutton with Byron Houston during the 1990-1991 basketball season is what got me into CBB. The 1995 Final Four run is up there with any moment I’ve had watching KU.

Became a KU fan because that’s where I went to college. I still rooted for OSU a few years into my time there but that 2002 Final Four KU team was when I pretty much completely stopped following anything about OSU.

College FB and BB: Jayhawks
NFL Raiders with Bo/Chiefs
NBA: more about players and squads. Loved watching the bad boys, loved the kings with Bibby, Jwill, cwebb, suns with Nash, thunder with kd and co.
MLB royals all the way. But love teams with great pitchers—nothing is better than a no hitter.
NHL/NASCAR: literally an eyelash above women’s non Olympic sports.

I have never had an NBA team either. Probably has a lot to do with not growing up around a local NBA team. I did love the Bad Boys though! I don't ever watch it now unless it's the playoffs. I will follow former UK guys but that's about it.

I was a Raider fan till the Panthers came to Charlotte and I had no problem kicking them to the curb. I been a UNC fan since I was 10. I lived in San Diego for over 20 years and I been to a lot of Padre games, yeah they sucked for the most part but going to a game in that ball park is very enjoyable. I'm also a Hornet fan and so far they've been disappointing.

Purdue
Reds
Pacers
Colts (Steelers when I was a boy and the Colts were in Bmore. Steel Curtain, Blier, Harris, Swann and Bradshaw.)

Started off with Tennessee State as a wee lad until Condredge Holloway became the starting QB for Tennessee. Been all Vol ever since.

Been a St Louis Cardinals fan since the day I was able to comprehend the game of baseball. One of my favorite school memories was my 2nd grade teacher (Mrs Howell) letting us kids watch the 1967 WS (Cardinals vs Red Sox) IN CLASS. My idol was Bob Gibson.

NFL team is the Rayduhs. “Just Win, Baby “

NBA? Don’t have a favorite team

I see the progress on the Raiders new stadium almost daily. It's going to be pretty damn nice. It better be since it will cost more than double what AT&T Stadium cost, at least $2.4 billion. The new LA stadium is even more than that.

Those numbers are just ****ing dumb and the exact reason why it costs a mortgage payment to attend a game

College has always been UNC, though Tennessee is a very close second. I have a lot of family connections there.

NBA was the Hawks and I still sort of pull for them but have never been a huge fan of teams (was a huge Wilkins fan growing up). I'm more about players in the League.

NFL is the only league I've ever changed. Grew up a Dolphins fan but with the Titans moving here have basically become a huge fan.

MLB has always been the Reds. Unfortunately we have not gotten a team here yet so I can stop getting pissed off every year in baseball.

NHL is the Preds.

Yep, ridiculous. I assume a lot of the seats/suites have been bought by the local casinos to entertain high rollers. I don't even want to think about what kind of ridiculous food they'll have there. Certainly not the kind that should be eaten while watching football.

Wilkins was one of my favorites as a kid as well. I like the direction the Reds are moving in. Anxious to see what else they are going to pull out of the hat. I like where they are as far as position players go. Would like to see them add an ace or #2 starter (Keuchel or Kluber hopefully) and maybe another solid middle reliever. I don't think they are as far from competing as people think.

Yeah, their lineup is fine if they can find someone to play CF. I really wish they would have kept Billy. His terrible bad was ok with the rest of their lineup considering how awesome he was in center. They talk of Senzel going there but I'm not sure about that. It is definitely mostly about pitching and who they get there for sure.

Yeah, I am not sure I like the idea of Senzel in the outfield. I would like to see them trade Scooter and get what they can for him this off-season since they don't seem likely to sign him long term and he's a free agent after this coming season. Bring Senzel up to play second. Right now they would probably have Schebler or Ervin in center although Ervin's not ready to be an everyday player and Schebler isn't ideal in center. I think Puig could play center in GABP no problem. I could see them flipping Puig or Kemp in a trade too since both are UFAs after this season. Plus Schebler and Winker have proven to be everyday players so there is suddenly a surplus of outfielders. They have cash to spend and players and prospects to offer in trade so it will be interesting to see what they do. Maybe they decide to sign a legit CF in free agency like Pollack or Span if they can trade away one of the other guys.

I just assume they will package either Kemp or Puig one and try to sign the other I guess. I like the trade a lot but they only have one year of control with all of them. Of course a QO gets them a compensatory pick as well.

Yep, I think one of them will be on the move and I would bet they are certainly counting on some compensatory picks with a few guys after this season, especially since they sent Downs and Gray to LA. Might be tough to trade Scooter anyway since they already have limited middle infield depth. Maybe he becomes a hot commodity at the trade deadline and a team makes the Reds a great offer for him, that would be sweet.

College Basketball-I’ve been a Duke fan since I was a kid
NFL-I grew up as a Redskins fan and I still am & I became a Panthers fan when they became an expansion team
NBA-I grew up as a Bulls fan but I don’t really watch much NBA anymore other than an occasional playoff game
MLB-I grew up as a Braves fan but don’t really watch MLB anymore either other than the All-Star game and maybe the World Series
NHL-I’ve never been a hockey fan other than playing hockey video games because I liked starting fights in the game lol

Braves had a pretty crazy 15-year run from about 91 to 2005. Just wasn't fair having Maddux, Smoltz, Glavine, Avery, etc. on the same roster. 3 Cy Young winners in the same rotation.... ridiculous.

Born in SF and lived there til I was 7, so I became a Giants & 9ers fan. Quickly renounced my 9ers fandom for Chiefs after moving to KC. Royals slowly overtook Giants as my baseball team, but my favorite player will forever be Will Clark.

Like Penn State football for really no reason as a kid. CBB never really had a squad but always was watching. Started liking AZ during their championship run in 1997 and ended up going to school there, making me a diehard in football and basketball.

Move back to SF post college and realized I never had an NBA team so I jumped on the warriors train and started going to games with some regularity. A few years in, got a girlfriend who’s company had a suite so I started going a lot. Became a huge fan. Suite is no more but girlfriend is now my wife and the mother of my two children. It’s been a whirlwind.

College: AZ errrthing
NFL: Chiefs
MLB: Royals
NBA: Warriors

I will watch the sharks from time to time but I’m way too fairweather to claim them. I do love me some playoff hockey tho.

My aunt and uncle lived in San Fran so Ive been to a 7 or giants games in candlestick and what used to be called pac bell.

Only one.

Tho i do enjoy the brees saints.

And LeBron's heat teams are probably the best basketball ive ever watched.

College I’ve always been Kentucky. Grew up in Louisville and my mom was a UK grad. I’ve been following basketball since I was 9 or 10, as far as actually being able to follow the team or season. Football maybe a little later than that.

NFL - Panthers. Always has been and always will be. You need a reason to follow a pro team if you live in a state that doesn’t have one. I fell in love with the Panthers when I was a kid. First season I started following we went 1-15. It’s been more downs than ups, but I do love my team.

NBA - I’m much more of a players fan in this league than team. I used to love watching the old Pistons teams in the early 2000s. Started following them when they drafted Tayshaun Prince from Kentucky. Those were some fun teams to watch. Also followed the Lakers during Kobe’s time there, as he is my favorite player of all time. I don’t keep up with the Pistons or Lakers much through the regular season anymore, but I do have my favorite players still.

Baseball - don’t care

I love watching and playing golf. Tiger has always been my favorite. Die hard fan of his.

Hockey - don’t care

College: always been UNC for everything.
NFL: Giants until the Panthers became an organization. All Carolina since.
NBA: as a kid it was Bulls and Hornets. After MJ retired from Chicago the second time it was just the Hornets. Now I don’t really care or pay that close attention. The original hornets leaving for NO was kind of the final straw.
MLB: Always been the Yankees.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve started caring about professional sports less and less. UNC athletics are the only teams that my fandom hasn’t really wavered, but even with that I don’t take the wins/losses to heart as much.

Where in Vegas is that stadium being build KB?

I never really got into college sports, until I knew I was going to MSU (where my uncle went).

My first favorite team was the Pistons during the Bad Boy era. Also had a Charlotte Hornets Starter jacket because I loved the logo. And because Starter jackets were the shit back then.

Then moved onto the Magic because of Penny and Shaq. Especially Penny though, and "Lil Penny".

MLB, NFL, and NHL we're always the Detroit teams, but I never really cared that much. I still wear a Rockies hat these days, because I live in CO but also because they became an expansion team right around the time I fell in love with CO as a kid on ski trips

I used to dislike kobe, then I watched him in the olympics. It seemed like he was the only one getting after it defensively. For some reason I just warmed up to him after that and he became one of my favorites. I love guys that hate to lose and are known for outworking everyone else.

He was my generations Michael. Not sure if the game will ever see something like those two again. They would rather kill you on the court and have no one like them than be buddy-buddy with the entire league. Have to respect that.
