Exhibition game results thread

This Rothstein guy sounds like a douche. So far in 3 games, 2 people were sensational and in the other game there was a team in mid-February form. Guy needs to settle the F down.

Bama beats a pretty good Wake team by 21 without Grant Nelson, Chris Youngblood, or Latrell Wrightsell.

sudden realization oh i see GIF

I didn’t realize that. How’s Purdue projected to do this year?
Preseason ranked 14th. Might take a minute to adjust to Edey being gone but our backcourt returns intact, including preseason B1G POY Braden Smith. Brought in a nice recruiting class and it's possible two of them start from the jump.

I'd expect Creighton to win next week. Painter and Purdue almost never win these things as he is focused on getting his guys different looks. Hell, we lost to Arkansas last year and then was #1 in the country a few weeks later.

damn, kid looks pretty good. Just need to hook him up with Swanigan's nutritionist, Ronald McDonald, for a few months.
Yessir. He need some beef but he's got potential. I think he'll end up being more like Kalkbrenner than Edey. Kid likes to step out and shoot the three as well,

Did you watch the scrimmage against Lincoln? Flagg and Kneuppel looked great. Defense looked really good I thought

KK looked amazing. He might have a shot to be a lottery pick next June. Such an exciting team. I love the versatility. Defense, shooters, switchable players, playmakers. There's a lot to like.

What's Gillis' projected role? He's a good role player albeit limited, but I think most every Purdue fan is rooting for him because he's a really good teammate, a very hard worker, and dedicated student.

Kentucky beat Kentucky 67-66 (or did Kentucky lose to Kentucky 66-67? 🤔) I think it was a running clock in the 2nd half. Kriisa didn't play, tweaked a hammy.

I'm thinking Knueppel and Flagg start at the 3 and 4 spots - and Gillis will get most of the reserve minutes. Minutes might come down a bit compared to last year, simply because of Flagg. But maybe 16-18 minutes and 5-6 ppg.

How's Cadeau's 3 ball looking? I didn't watch a ton of UNC last year, but the way MSU defended him was disrespectful as hell...given it didn't make a difference.

It's been reported he's been working on his 3 ball all off season but he did look good in the shots he was taking. No hesitation in taking them is the key so I expect him to better in that regard, we shall see.

I’m not sure how our defense will be this season, I do love that all but our center (Scott) can shoot (and make) 3’s. Against our weak exhibition opponent, we hit 24 3’s at a 42% clip. So nice to have basketball back at the Yum!

Im still a little skeptical because it's a brand new team and brand new coach, but Kentucky might be better this year than I thought they were going to be. I know it was just Kentucky Weselyn but that was an ELITE shooting performance. Defense was pretty good overall as well, other than getting backdoored a handful of times.

Will forever be mad we didn't get last years team with Pope's offensive scheme. Would have been the best offensive team in Kentucky history.

That was @lurkeraspect84's favorite part.

I watched a little of the game and thought Kentucky looked pretty awesome.

I will agree this UK team isn't a top 10 team, there just isn’t enough star power, but after watching them score the ball like that, there aren't 22 teams that are better.

NC State proved last year that you can win in the tournament with a team built through the portal, so I have some hope that this team can do great things.

Got a couple of really good defenders too.

Might need to get better in the post and on the glass, but these guys are going to really spread the court.

I'm very, very excited for what this Ky team will be by Feb/March. Elite shooters and ball movement was really good tonight. Defense was solid and will improve but that (exhibition) game was a thing of beauty.
