Ashton Hagans to Kentucky

I mean, since it was insinuated that he's not smart and yet his grades said otherwise, I mean what else can you do? If Duke's classes are easy, then Kentucky must have eas(ier) ones therefore allowing their players on the SEC All academics team, right?

Triggered!

Just depends what you're looking for. Both are great ball handlers and court generals. Jones is more of a jump shooter and Hagans is more of a driver, which is the type of PG UK needs to compliment the rest of their roster.
I'd actually say Kentucky needs more shooters, so if Jones is more of a shooter than Hagans (idk, Purdue doesn't recruit or get 5 stars), then Jones would be better fit for Kentucky. Yes, I know he's going to Duke. But for the most part, Kentucky always seems to be a player short when it comes to someone with skill and shooting ability. JMO

While generally I agree with you on that, I think we're actually covered in that department.

Tyler Herro, Wenyen Gabriel, Jemarl Baker, and Immanuel Quickley are all excellent shooters.

Quade Green, Ashton Hagans, and Keldon Johnson are all fairly good shooters as well.

Only one ball to go around with all of those shooters

I think UK just needs one of Herro or Baker to step up and be consistent. Green should be solid in his second year - I was pretty comfortable with most all of his shots last year.

I’m not sold on IQ yet. His form is somewhat awkward. We’ll see if it translates well to scoring over high major competition. Hagans is in that same boat too.

I don't know too much about the other guys, but if I were Kentucky, I would try to get these guys on the floor together. They bring some skill and shooting to the table that would mix well with really any three other players.

I don't think Gabriel will be back next year. Going pro somewhere, IMO.

I don't think that was ever the qualm with Bagley. I think it was the record timing of the reclass amid the very questionable academics. I do appreciate the strawman though. 6/10

You do know behind the scenes, Bagley had been working on reclassifying way before he made it well known. Of course you didn't.

And not to mention, Bagley also made All-ACC Academics as well.
Had to be smart to complete 2 years of high school in one summer, amirite?

How many times did this kid get held back?

This happens so often in college basketball and I don't understand it. I feel like I'm always looking at mock drafts/players stats and seeing dudes that are 19 as freshman before they even get in college and am like WTF? I had just turned 18 when I graduated high school.

I was 16. I graduated HS in May 1992. I didn't turn 17 until July '92.
