Miami about to go from Final Four to the NIT

The only two real teams that Miami has played have blown the doors off my Canes. About to be unranked in the AP poll. That preseason top 15 ranking looks crazy now.

I tried to chalk the Kentucky loss up to Kentucky hitting on all cylinders that night and shooting extremely well. Now, after watching the team play even worse today against the Fighting Deions out of Boulder, CO, it's apparent that this team is really not good.

This does not look like an NCAA tournament team

I thought the same about the UK game. There is still time to turn it around but if not there's no way you will finish last in your conference.

Miami's offense is fine. It could be better, but it's pretty solid.

Their defense, on the other hand, is atrocious. Kentucky and Colorado sliced and diced Miami apart. They could get any shot they wanted. And it showed. 90+ points for both teams.

You guys did great the past two years in March without a good defense. But, the games against Kentucky and Colorado felt a little different.

Miami doesn't need an elite defense, necessarily. They just need to be adequate enough where the opponent isn't blistering by them with something like 1.2 or 1.3 points per possession. An okay-ish defense plus an elite offense could still be a very formidable opponent.

When the blowout loss to Kentucky happened to be basically sandwiched in between an OT win vs St.Joseph's and a loss to UNC Wilmington, both at Rupp, my antennas certainly went up in question of how overrated Miami might be.
