My 6th-round pick, CJ Massinburg, dropped 43 on West Virginia the other night. Buffalo should be ranked next week, I believe.

Remember to lock in on your top 8 guys before the end of the year. If I don't hear back from you, I'll select the picks from the first 8 rounds by default. WojoRising drafted Darius Garland and jwill133 drafted Jontay Porter. Those were two major season-ending losses. Not sure if there were other season-ending injuries that I'm missing.

Here are the top 10 players in our league for win shares through 12/17/2018:

1. Mike Daum, South Dakota State 3.1 (ThroughBlue)
2. Jarrett Culver, Texas Tech 2.8 (dukedevilz)
3. Shamorie Ponds, St.John's 2.7 (jhmossy)
4. Yoeli Childs, BYU 2.6 (dukedevilz)
4. Ethan Happ, Wisconsin 2.6 (sdsufan10)
6. Zion Williamson, Duke 2.5 (Mgkcbb)
6. Chris Clemons, Campbell 2.5 (WeAreDePaul)
8. Ja Morant, Murray State 2.4 (sdsufan10)
9. Drew McDonald, Northern Kentucky 2.3 (jwill133)
10. RJ Barrett, Duke 2.2 (jwill133)

I'm in this for next year when I hope to take advantage of actually knowing the rules when I draft. RollLaugh

Sorry about that. I'll make sure to be very clear about the rules next season... Also, thinking about including an additional rule. I think we have way too many players from mid-major conferences. I think we should limit it to 2 mid-majors per team. I would allow any player from the power 6 conferences + the American (Houston, Cincinnati, Temple, UCF, etc.) + Gonzaga (kind of like Notre Dame, but in basketball). So only 2 of your 10 picks would be from mid-majors.

or maybe just weight it so you get more points for being all conference in a power conference. That makes sense. It's a lot easier to pick guys from Gonzaga, Nevada or really any small conference power and be guaranteed all conference points as opposed to trying to do that with players who play in loaded conferences.

Good point. We'll certainly need to do something to modify the scoring structure. Because honestly, you could probably win this contest simply by picking a team full of mid-major superstars.

Here is the current scoring system

10 points- National Player of the Year (AP for All-American Teams)
9 points- 1st Team All-American
8 points- 2nd Team All-American
7 points- 3rd Team All-American; NABC Defensive POY
6 points- Honorable Mention All-American
5 points- Conference Player of the Year
4 points- 1st Team All-Conference; Conference Defensive POY
3 points- 2nd Team All-Conference
2 points- 3rd Team All-Conference; All-Conference Defense
1 point- Honorable Mention All-Conference

Here's how we could modify the scoring next year:

Power 6 Conferences (plus The American):

6 Points- Conference POY
5 Points- 1st Team All Conference; Conference DPOY
4 points- 2nd Team All Conference
3 points- 3rd Team All Conference
2 points- Honorable Mention All-Conference
1 point- All Freshmen Team

The scoring for the mid-majors would be the same. I don't know, is 1 point a big enough gap for the scoring between the different conferences?

Looks like my mid major strategy could do some work. Suck my balls whoever doubted me

I'm going to go ahead and draft my unofficial JV team. I don't think these guys will fare as well as last season, as I think the owners of this draft did a much better job at researching. But I'll take a stab, nonetheless.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker, Virginia Tech
Phil Booth, Villanova
Jalen Hudson, Florida
Nick Ward, Michigan State
Remy Martin, Arizona State
Killian Tillie, Gonzaga
Jarron Cumberland, Cincinnati
Andre Spight, Northern Colorado
Vasa Pusica, Northeastern
Roosevelt Smart, North Texas

I'm surprised you didn't take Terance Mann with a backup spot. Although he's been up and down so far this year, he does have name value in conference play.

By the way, thank you very much for making some of the picks for me. The aftermath of Hurricane Michael was (and continues to be) quite rough. I didn't have power for two weeks and didn't have reliable internet for 7 weeks. Would not have been able to participate without your help.

Tough for me to pick someone from FSU, simply because significant minutes is never a guarantee with Hamilton.

And you're certainly welcome for the picks! Hope some of them are okay. James Thompson (Eastern Michigan) has regressed quite a bit from last season, for whatever reason... Probably want to lock in Mustapha Heron or Tres Tinkle for your 8th rotation spot.

@jhmossy your team is worse than my fantasy football team. shame.

He might actually have the most impressive team of us all. De'Andre Hunter, Shamorie Ponds, and Bol Bol are playing like All-Americans.. Luke Maye and James Palmer would probably be Honorable Mention All-Americans if the season ended today.

I'll trust @dukedevilz's basketball judgment over yours any day of the week, Todd

Well, my team’s a train wreck doused in gasoline at the base of a volcano.

Losing Garland was bad luck. Pritchard and Guy have been decent, but not overwhelming. At least you still have Carsen Edwards. There are a few teams that will struggle to have an All-American.

You going to guy with Fletcher Magee, Mr. Irrelevant, in your 8-man rotation?

Yeah, that’s probably what I’ll do. I thought he was a steal as the final pick

You guys left me off the list. = ( . Still sad I took Kenny Williams over Coby White.

Can just do 1-8.

Don't handicap yourself. Justin Wright-Foreman is killing it. Probably the most valuable player on your team.
Shrug well if I am able to benefit myself after the fact. Put Kenny Williams on the bench and add wright-foreman to the other top 7.

God damn kenny Williams

I feel a little conflicted with my team. I'm going to keep my 1-8 picks for now (11 days to change my mind). Hard to pass on Desmond Bane, since he's leading TCU in scoring (15 ppg, 5.8 reb, 3.4 ast, 53.6 fg%). But, if anyone gets All-American or 1st Team All-Conference status from TCU, I'm certain it will be Alex Robinson. Hard to imagine TCU getting two guys on the 1st Team All-Conference ballot.

Starters:
Dedric Lawson- Kansas
Cassius Winston- Michigan State
Jordan Murphy- Minnesota
Jaylen Nowell- Washington
McKinley Wright- Colorado
CJ Massinburg- Buffalo
Jarrett Culver- Texas Tech
Yoeli Childs- BYU

Desmond Bane- TCU

4. Juwan Morgan
5. Quinndary Weatherspoon
6. Mustapha Heron
7. Tres Tinkle

Yeah I completely forgot to pick my 8.

If I still can I'll go
Caleb Martin
Grant Williams
Ky Bowman
Charles Matthews
Lindell Wigginton
Marcquise Reed
Jalen Adams
Justin Robinson

Tyler Cook and Quentin Grimes left off.

Bol Bol is a huge, huge loss. On my initial All-American team just 2 weeks ago or so, I had him as a 2nd Team All-American. I'll allow Bol Bol to be benched as well as the other adjustments made by @GE Nole and @Big_C_KU. Any injuries from here on out, just means you're SOL. Hopefully our teams can remain relatively healthy. Best of luck to everyone!

I'm not really too worried about it either way but I appreciate the consideration. If I was a NBA GM, I would be really worried about a 7'2 prospect with foot problems though.

He might slide a little bit, but I'm sure he'll still be a lottery pick. Sixers took Embiid fully aware that they'd have to wait a bit for him - not knowing if he'd ever be the same. 7'2 guys with a huge upside don't show up every year. Probably worth the risk.
