Agree. I've never had that big of an issue. Wife and I went there a few years back for the Vandy game. It was senior night; Harrelson. UK led entire way. Fans start the chant of , "C-A-T-S". I just sit there. This guy goes, "C'mon, man. Gotta get into it". Wife says---"He's not going to chant that. He's an IU fan". People areound us just stare at me. I'm thinking---"Yeah, buddy". Guy simply says---"Well that explains it. Being an IU fan, I wouldn't expect he could spell anyways". He lets out what sounded like some type of mountain man, hillbilly mating call. Slaps me on the back and says---"You're alright brother".

But TBH, had Vandy's three at the end gone in, I'm not so sure this story has the same ending.

Yeah, no room for this. But sometimes I think we have a hard time separating fans, from students. Especially, drunk students. My officiating career has taking me to a lot of places. Some of the stories I could tell about students would blow your mind. I try and not affiliate students with fans. If I affiliated all fans with the actions of their students? Lord have mercy. There wouldn;t be a "good/respectable" fan base on the planet.

With that being said---Still no excuse. That is one thing you could say about Knight. Dude wouldn't tolerate that kinda of shit, if he heard it.

FWIW, I've attended the rivalry UofL vs UK football, basketball, and baseball games at Louisville and Lexington, and also attended UK openly as a UofL fan (1979-84). I can honestly say I've never experienced, nor have I seen, what I would call really bad fan behavior from either side. Can't say the same for the players and coaches however.

The Clemson football fans are fantastic and while promising to beat my team were gracious. Plus I love their stadium.

I was at Final Four in 2002, Atlanta. Partying at Jock and Jills - across square from Georgia Dome. Bunch of Indiana fans with the barber striped pants were drinking pitchers on a outdoor deck just above me and some other folks in a beer line.

They were chanting Turtle Soup and Lenny Bias was a crackhead at us for hours. An Indiana fan, female, saw me laughing at her just below deck - so she decided to try and dump a pitcher of beer on my head. She missed - but hit a lady in line in front of me.

Georgia state police saw this, and quickly ascended the out door deck steps to have a chat these Hoosier fans. The guys around her decided to fight the police. We sat there and watched 15 of them get locked up at 5 pm - 4 hours before tipoff. I have nothing against the Indy fans - but fighting the police 4 hours before your team plays the Natty - I just do not get it.
