***Villanova vs Purdue 1pm***

7 fouls in the 1st half. 11 in 7 minutes of the 2nd. Amazing how often that happens.
Both teams haven't been as good defensively---lots of reaching, grabbing. Teams adjust offensively, more often than they do defensively. There was no reason for either team to make any adjustments defensively---But offensively they have. Defense hasn't adjusted. Much sloppier game this half.

I like that there is no defensive 3 seconds. Bc i the fact teams can play zones in college. Makes for more upsets imo

and obv im biased bc pitinos matchup zone was a thing of beauty when he had everyone on the same page.

Why wouldn’t you be able to play zone?

its a judgment call but Samuels didn’t move on the first bump and fell really easily on the 2nd.
First bump wasn't as bad---second bump not all that bad, BUT----Trevion dipped down on the second bump. You do that, and you're getting banged for a foul every single time.

Why wouldn’t you be able to play zone?
That was my question....You'd still be able to zone.

My crew in HS, all over the 3 seconds---and eearly. We tell the kids---"we will talk to you, and give ya a chance to get out of there. But if ya don't listen, we are calling it."

I do the same in my college games as well.

It needs to be a POE.

Twice now Nova has missed front end, with a chance to push lead to 7 or 9, and Purdue has respnded with a 3...Huge swings.

4 times now Purdue has tried an entry pass from 100 feet...

Why?

Its not a stupid rule--at all. Need it,along with the defensive 3 seconds. You just cannot let 7'0" dudes stay in the lane all day. Any player for that matter. People yell to clean the game up, i.e. post play---Well call the 3 seconds, and add the defensive 3 seconds, and you'll have that.

Its one of the better, most needed rules. And it needs to be addressed. Imagine having to guard a 7'4" dude, for 5, 6, 7+ seconds, 6 feet from the goal, all the time...It would lead to ugly basketball, a more physical game, and TBH, probably some hands being thrown.
Defensive 3 sec rule makes no sense. How many defenses can you run without having a guy in the lane?

10 straight made shots by Purdue....Damn.

Nova FT's---Sheesh.

If Purdue can keep up their shooting they are going to mess around and win a national championship

Nova needs to develop their bench during the season to become their full potential. 9-17 from the free throw line.

Edey wow!!

Theres a few teams that if they hit 11 straight shots, that could win a title...Purdue hasn't missed a shot in like 7 minutes.

I don’t mean that. I mean if they have multiple guys that can stretch the floor and force teams to play Mano-y-mano on Ivey/the bigs they are going to be a problem.

Nova's legs are gone. FT's are proving that. Their style is hard to play without rest between games.

Indeed- and Coach Goog my Purdue Klown buds hadnt even warned me the Due Due's had a Big Lanky SiberiaSquatch either. It felt like getting pool hall hustled by Tom Cruise only he was taller this time and wore sandals and socks everywhere like a Hoosier Bastard.

Edey player of the game----But not my vote. IMO, Purdue does not win this game w/o Thompson. 4-4 from three....and great defense on Gillispe. No chance they win today w/o his performnce.

SO I am trumping the announcers vote----My vote for player of the game is Thompson.

Nova gonna have to come up with a bench....Purdue has methodically worn them down.

Best team in the country. Go Boilers.
I know this was meant for someone else....Purdue is really good. But I don't think they are better than Gonzaga, UCLA, Kansas, or possibly even Duke. They are certainly Top 5, no doubt. A lot of interchangeable teams, TBH. But Purdue needed a 12-12 from the field finish,to beat a teeam that was massively undersized, and no bench.

First time seeing Purdue. Very impressed. I just don't think they can do what they to Nova, to a GU, UCLA, KU, or Duke. Doesn't mean I don't think they can't beat them---of course they could. Purdue needs to fix some things defensively....But man are they good.

Sounds good. Lol. Would love to play any of those teams.
