Really wish tip time was late afternoon or early evening.

Who you guys like here?

Heavyweight matchup really.

Fascinating matchup of styles in the championship game. Purdue obviously relies heavily on it’s big and has massive size. Villanova is undersized and will struggle with that more than likely. On the flipside, Villanova rolls out a bunch of shooters which will test Purdue in a big way just like North Carolina did yesterday.

Looking forward to this game...

Purdue will have to defend the perimeter much,MUCH better. Nova shoots it really good. I look for Nova to try and pull PU's bigs away from the hoop, drive at them, force help, and kick out for the three.

IMO, Purdue cannot fall in love with the three. Huge advantage in the post. Let the 3 ball come off feeds to the post.

THis gonna be a fantastic game.

Edey 6 points in four minutes already..
Nova has no answer....But I like what they are doing---forcing him to guard away from the basket. Which is exactly what I felt they would do. Nova has exploited that, just haven't finished.

Also, you cannot allow him to catch the ball so deep. He gets it 5 feet fromthe rim, its ova...

Nova taking some questionable shots....

Purdue is explosive...

Did someone say Ivey would not be 1st team All B10?

I legit thought they got rid of 3 seconds because they never called it on Purdue’s big dude until just then. Ridiculous. You could probably call that on him every offensive possession.

You could, and thats on the Rules committee...Its never brough up in any meetings I attend. It needs to be. And on top of that, I'd love to see defensive 3-seconds.

If Nova had a WIlliams/TJD type of dude in the middle---holy moses.

If Nova can just compete, keep it close on the boards, take some better shots, they are going to be just fine. They've had 3 shots rim out, that looked good.

Purdue has gotten sloppy.

Both these squads are really good.

Nova being very physical with our bigs and Ivey but called for just 2 fouls in the half. Just 5 fouls on Purdue as well.

Guess the refs are going to let them play.

Or they could get rid of it because it's a stupid rule
Its not a stupid rule--at all. Need it,along with the defensive 3 seconds. You just cannot let 7'0" dudes stay in the lane all day. Any player for that matter. People yell to clean the game up, i.e. post play---Well call the 3 seconds, and add the defensive 3 seconds, and you'll have that.

Its one of the better, most needed rules. And it needs to be addressed. Imagine having to guard a 7'4" dude, for 5, 6, 7+ seconds, 6 feet from the goal, all the time...It would lead to ugly basketball, a more physical game, and TBH, probably some hands being thrown.

I htink they have let both teams be physical---And you can be physical, w/o fouling. Not all contact is a foul---nor should it be called. I've seen probably 2-3 plays where I felt Nova got away with some fouls, in the post.

As for Ivey...He's creating a lot of the contact. Driving out of control, double pumping, etc, etc...Nova is really, really good at moving their feet, maintaining defensive position. On those two drives, Nova defender was 100% legal the entire time, and simply jumped straight up---Ivey created the contact. ANd even if he didn't, the contact was legal. Not saying he hasn't gotten banged a few times---he has. But for the most part, Nova has just been really good defensively.

Getting rid of three seconds would be like getting rid of the carry. Yes it’s not called as much as it should or could be, but if you got rid of it the result would be disgusting.

I like that there is no defensive 3 seconds. Bc i the fact teams can play zones in college. Makes for more upsets imo

and obv im biased bc pitinos matchup zone was a thing of beauty when he had everyone on the same page.
