There will be no more generational talent in CBB.

With Zion likely leaving, this was the last year being able to watch someone so dominant than everyone else. No one before the rule change has that hype as being one of them.

It was amazing to watch A.D and Zion completely own CBB and show that they were on a completely different level than everyone else.

Who knows when the next guy comes along that will live up and exceed the hype like A.D. and Zion did. It will likely never happen.

With the NBA rule about to change, we may never see a generational talent like those 2 in College Basketball ever again.

I'll gladly trade that if it meant that the sport I love got cleaned up. Unfortunately, this rule change wont help do that at all...which sucks!

Larry, Magic, Jordan, Isaiah, Rice,..those were generational players

It will be better for the game once OAD is gone. Yes I’m sure ESPN and CBS are upset their TV contracts will take a hit, but eff them and eff the gawker casuals looking for a freak show. CBB is not about freshmen super teams. A final with rosters like TT and UVA is how it should be, upperclassmen playing good team ball with a balance of talented freshmen.

This is a misconception, imo. OAD isn't going anywhere. I highly, highly doubt anymore than maybe the top 5 opt to go straight to the NBA. I mean Deandre Hunter is a 2 and done player. That's likely what we will see more of, but there will still be 1 year players.

Only the elite of the elite (top 5 or so) have a legit chance to compete for a draft spot in their h.s. graduation year's NBA draft against older people.

There's no way that this is going to make everyone who chooses to go to college to automatically stay.

I just can't see more than a handful giving up a year of college to test the NBA draft against people that are a year+ older than them. Yes, the elite of the elite will get drafted, but the guys who go to college will always have a leg up for the rest of the draft slots the following year. Thus, you won't see that many from each class actually skip.

If the top 5 go then there will be no more Zions. If there are no more Zions, that means the dominant freshmen are no longer apart of the game, that will in all likelihood drive down the season to season ratings. That said, I think it is still good for the game, CBB needs to get back to being about teams and programs, not individuals and next level projections, CBB should not be the NBA-lite.

Zions accomplishments are nothing compared to ADs.

He is a hell of an athlete though
Zion was the better player but AD was more accomplished.
It helps to have veteran players like Miller, Lamb and Terrence Jones on your squad though.

Im really going to miss Zion. He dashed the hopes of certain fan bases who stated “he was too fat, he only dominated slow white boys in HS, blah blah blah” and man he shut those haters up the VERY first night in his first college game. He demoralized those punks!

God I’m gonna miss Zion! What a consummate teammate! He’d rather his teammates get the credit when the press focuses on him. A model athlete!
