Tennessee vs Kentucky

Beat the Hell out of like usual. We always beat the hell out of your supposed good teams. We even beat your best team of all time.
And you stay home while we go to bowl games, have fun, make money and enjoy watching you stay home and cry.

All I saw was somebody ask you what sport UT was better at and then you came off with the drum beating reference. I like you and think that you’re a good poster I just think you go a little overboard sometimes.
That simple is incomplete and therefore not true. The UK fan that UT was not better than UK last year. Why post Scotty if you're going to be disingenuous?

Well, sine we are #5 in Bowl appearances and y'all are #66, it was high time ya'll pull your own weight.

Seems like your position changes with the direction of the wind. When presented with facts you tend to fold up like an accordion.
How would you come up with that in lieu of you failing to present facts?

It may be a little early, but it is here none the less.
Why are you so worried?

In a sense, you're right it is a huge game, but don't sell yourself short, UK has improved mightily over the season. I hope neither team loses up till our game, that would take some of the luster off.

It is a big game, but it is not the season. Win or lose either of us there will be at least one rematch and we have March Madness. So, good luck until we meet.:)
Are you singing a different tune now? It previously was how the Vols were going to mop the floor with our Cats. Interesting.

You’re seriously arguing that a team would rather win its conference tourney than the regular season title?
In most conferences the winner of the conference tourney gets the automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Most of the mid majors get nothing by winning the regular season. In that case it would be much better to win the conference tournament.

I think it’s more of her just being proud of her team. UT fans aren’t use to having a top 20 team most years let alone top 5 so I can see why she might be a little overly happy. All I was saying to her was not to come here acting like UT was a top ten team year in and year out. Again I like it when other SEC schools are doing well. Better for UK and the league.

If both teams win out then this could be a game where the #1 team is playing on the road against a top 5 blueblood. I just checked the schedule and nothing else really stands out as a potential game of the day. Since Gameday was already in Lexington for the Kansas game they will not be there again only 3 weeks later (atleast I can’t recall them ever going to the same place twice in one season).

Just pointing that out now. It’s pretty rare for such a high profile game to not be the location for Gameday. Looks like it might be in Durham or Ann Arbor instead where the home team would be a pretty big favorite.

Actually game day is coming back for that game. Pretty sure it’s already a done deal but don’t hold me to that!

It should be but they usually won’t even visit a school in back to back seasons. I think Kansas has had the most Gameday visits ever, atleast that was the case a couple of years ago, and they usually only come there every other year. I don’t recall them ever doing once place twice in one season but I could be wrong.

I hear you. But if UK wins both games next week (not a given considering Carolina has been very good in SEC play + Mississippi State on the road) they'd be stupid not to have what will be a 5 vs 1 matchup for gameday imo.

Actually, you accused me of doing that, not warned me against it. You are absolutely correct I'm tickled to death with where UT is right now.

Do I think UT is the greatest team ever and unbeatable, no. Of course, I have not made that claim once much less all the times I've been accused of it.

I do like to banter back and forth, but I like to do it in a good natured way. I like to say, UT will kick UK's ass by 10, but in reality, I have no idea how it will turn out. We could win or lose by 10, it could go to OT, but that is the fun of it. The last thing in the world I am is overconfident, I was nervous about AGGY and now I'm nervous about Mizzou. When UK comes up, I'll be nervous about them too.Laughing

I just skimmed through the wiki page for it. They’ve had some pretty awful matchups in the past so I’m thinking they won’t be in Lexington for the game.

It could potentially be at a women’s game but I’m not checking any schedules for that. Ha ha.

Looking ahead at a few games maybe considered?-
NC State @ Duke (NC State shouldn't be allowed to play on television after yesterday)
Maryland @ Michigan (Maryland lost 3 of 4, won't be ranked next week)
Iowa State @ Kansas State (maybe best non UT/UK option?)

Just not a lot of compelling games really

It was in Duke earlier this year. I’m guessing it’ll be in Ann Arbor.

I’ll be taking bets for any Kentucky fans who think I’m wrong.

Thats me, I like the going back and fourth but you have to be able to take the good with the bad on this board because it can get a little rough. People will go to the end of the earth and back to make a point or to make something fit their agenda. We have one poster who made up a fake life with a fake model wife for god sakes!

If UT wins it all, they won't be letting me cut down the nets and if we lose all of our games from here on out, it won't cost me a dime.

I think I ruffled some feathers making fun of the notion of a Blue blood fan and how ridiculous it is to expect some privilege for rooting for a specific team. I recognize that some teams have achieved great records and have been the model of consistency, but so what? Tennessee is doing real good, but it is no thanks to me. We are all just fans.:)

You have changed your tune Della. You started out saying UT would kick Kentucky's ass and not you seem hesitant to back that up.

I feel the same way about UK. If y'all were alabama, I would pull for whoever they played.

I (Drew Brown), was present at this press conference and Calipari directed his inquiry about the return of College Gameday at Eric Lindsey, who is the director of athletic communication and media relations for the men’s basketball team. Lindsey made it clear that nothing was set in stone and that everyone would just have to wait and see.

It is still a little early for ESPN to announce the destination for College Gameday on February 16th. Sometime in the next week to 10 days, a formal release should be out out that gives the specifics. I can’t imagine a better game for ESPN to attend, but you never know. They may want to spread the wealth considering there would only be a three week gap between visits to Lexington.

Also Gameday has been at UK and KU the most with 8 times apiece followed by Duke and UNC with 7.

I am talking about your initial post on this board. Reread that post Della. You may have a short memory so reread that post.
Reread my post 380, third paragraph. It sums me up.

This game will test the policies that ESPN follows for college gameday locations. They might just have to break tradition and go to Rupp Arena for a second time this year.

I think it would be a mistake not to.

Yeah I wouldn't be surprised, but it'd be dumb. Oh well gameday is awful to watch so meh not a big deal either way.

Only reason Id want them back is to listen to other fan bases bitch we got it twice. IDGAF if Gameday ever comes, it is truly awful nowadays.

There’s been plenty of weekends where it was at a game for a team ranked like 20th playing at an unranked opponent. They make mistakes all of the time. I don’t see any reason why they would break protocol this time.

I do agree that it should be there but if you always go with the game it should be you open it up to being at Duke like 3-4 times a year when they play a top 10 ACC team at home. Nobody wants that. Lol

Oh I agree, heck, they just did gameday in East Lansing with unranked Indiana with IU on a 7 game losing streak, so yeah, they have more than.proven that they will host a game that isn't the most interesting.

Good thing for NC State they didn't choose Raleigh, NC this weekend. Yikes.
