I can’t really put my finger on this USC team. I know they have studs, but why didn’t they dominate more this season? I was watching the Uconn game on youtube and they didn’t even attempt to defend the 3 ball? Too much size?
Witchita St looks pretty solid on tape. Obviously not as big but not small either.

Conundrum because I like USC vs KU, but I like KU over Wich st. I’mjust not so sure I like USC vs the shockers in rd 1.

USC hasnt made the NCAA tournament for a while already, their fans are now calling for Frank Martin's head. I aint sure what they are thinking, they expect to find someone much better but they are USC gamecocks, not UNC tarheels.

They have length in spades. Evan Mobley is a stud but doesn’t seem to have the motor or desire to dominate like he could. I remember @duckboy33 or maybe showed a box score where he played like 30+ mins had 15 boards 7 blocks but never even attempted a shot just had a few fts.

But their all long as can be I wanna say they shortest in the starting 5 is 6”5-6”6. But the backcourt isn’t near as talented as the front court.

Theh have an Enfield problem though imo he’s not a good coach, usc always seems to have talent and never do anything with it.

Right they should have performed better. I was watching the Witchita St vs Houston game and those guys are frikkin hungry.
That being said I know USC is crazy long and talented. Maybe they show out for the tourney? I’m sticking with Shocker upset I think.

It's sounding like KU may have everyone but Enaruna for the 2nd round if they get there.

I'm hoping for Wichita St. Not necessarily because of USC's length. I just want a piece of Wichita.

I'm guessing you were referencing this post that I made? Mobley probably does need to be more aggressive at times. He's incredibly skilled and he has the ability to dominate. I think it's encouraging that he dropped 52 points in two Pac-12 Tournament games. Sometimes other teams do a good job at denying the ball, but they should still be able to counter with PnR action.

USC has crazy length. Tallest team in America. I worry about their guard play, however. Anderson has good ball control, but he's not a scorer. Eaddy is a great shooter, but not a great facilitator himself. Still, all of the size and length could give A LOT of teams trouble. I actually have them going to the Elite 8. Rolling the dice here. Just can't go all chalk like the ESPN guys.

The box score below is almost as perplexing as the Saint Mary's-Arizona State game last year when SMC won by 40 points, and Alonzo Verge scored 43 of the 56 points for ASU. Evan Mobley, one of the most highly regarded players in the country, played 31 minutes against Utah and didn't get off a single field goal attempt. And USC won by 18 points. Go figure.

Kansas has Mccormack.

Mccormack is an interesting player

Really should study his play especially against Derek Culver.

This is if SC gets pass Wichita State
That game. It could go either way.

If you want to take a flyer on a team in the bottom of that bracket
Check out Oregon.

Oregon could matchup with Iowa better than most believe.

Once again that is if Oregon can get pass VCU

Bingo. They have talent most years. Maybe not Evan Mobley type of talent, but a lot of it nonetheless. And yet since Enfield has been there they have won one non-First Four NCAAT game.

They got a pretty nice draw all things considered but I’d be shocked if they made it beyond the Sweet 16. First round loss is a real possibility.

Since everyone in the world is penciling USC into the 2nd or beyond, you can chalk them up for a first round loss.

I don’t love how KU matches up with them, but they would probably be the weakest team KU’s lost to this season. For USC to go on a run, they’re going to have to beat higher caliber teams than they’ve beaten all year.

Yea that was it. Sorry I guess I assumed it was @duckboy33 bc he’s the resident Pac12 fan.

lol that is sad. There's one Colorado fan that's posted in a few threads. But yes, they're mostly absent. Don't see a whole lot of Big East fans on this forum either. A few Nova fans, and of course everybody's favorite DePaul fan. At least the other 4 conferences are well represented.

Mobley is gonna be the best player on the floor every game until they run into Iowa/Gonzaga. They are a flawed team but I could see them making the elite 8.

He was the most talented player on the floor every game in the Pac12 tourney by a long shot as well, but that didn’t work out so well.

ButI agree they are a hard team to get a read on.

They did win 75% of the games in the PAC 12. They weren't terrible.

He reminds me a bit of Anthony Davis at UK. Great defender but hasn't developed to the offensive player that he could become in the NBA. Now the difference is UK had a lot of NBA players around him so he didn't need to shoulder the load offensively. USC needs him to be that offensive player now if they want to make a run in the NCAAT.

I was replying to the prev post that he will be the best player on the floor until they play Gonzaga.

I know they weren’t terrible, just comparing that he was the most talented player in the Pac12 tourney and they didn’t do so well, so not sure why anyone would think the ncaaT would be any diff.

but again they are a hard team to get a read on bc of how disruptive they are defensively.

And he’s a good defensive player no doubt but he wasn’t a quite as good as AD on D imo. AD is the best defensive player I’ve ever seen in college. He could block ft line floaters from the charge/block arc. Granted I watched him dominate us twice so I’m biased. I’ve watched usc play a few times but not as many uk games as I watched in 2012 when they were number 1 all season.

He just doesn’t seem as active as AD was on D for lack of better words. I just feel like he’d be unanimous number 1 pick if he was AD good on D. But the sky is def the limit, the kid is talented as can be an even has a beautiful looking jumper when he decides to shoot.

Well there goes my W-State thought. Fuk it I’m doubling down on Drake to pull the upset now 😂

Very big and talented. As stated before Evan Mobley is a stud and will probably be one of the first two players selected in the draft. Their big problem is at guard especially point guard. They don't have a true point guard so sometimes they struggle running their offense.

They are currently owned by Colorado. They lost 6 PAC 12 games this season and three of them were to CU who has won the last seven matchups between the teams.

I saw a breakdown of the numbers for Pac 12 PGs and USC’s is last or second to last in basically every category.
