You might not have gotten UK wrong. It remains to be seen whether we compete well in the SEC. I think our early schedule was too easy. They seemed a little shell shocked against Clemson. Fans bought into possible fool's gold by watching lopsided games against patsies. I'm not saying we absolutely are not contenders but our guys have a lot to prove.

Tis true enough. We've played two good teams and won 1. I'll feel much better if we can get a win tomorrow against the Zags. But the word is out on UK. We are a finesse team that will have to hit a lot of 3's. Physical teams playing bully ball at home will be a huge problem in the SEC.
If he can keep them focused on consistent declarative cuts and running the offense they can be good I think. But like the other night when they got frustrated, they forgot to execute the game plan and instead played individual ball. Perfectly understandable. But for an athletically challenged finesse team, you have to run a good offense more so than some other teams. They are fun to watch when things are clicking.
What about Kentucky coming back from 18 down in the second half and winning in overtime?
To me they proved a lot last night playing with out a starting guard and then losing another in the game and still won.
Kansas. They CAN be good but they are not good right now. They’re stepping out of bounds, throwing the ball to ghosts, and missing wide open jumpers at a scary rate. No passion, and they look clueless on both ends of the court.

Lol, Mizzou up 57-33 then literally stopped playing on offense. Their offense has consisted of holding the ball and letting the shot clock drop down to 5 seconds before they do anything.

Kansas lost but they will probably still be number 1 or 2.
Hell they only lost two games in a row to unranked teams.
The top teams in the SEC all have legit big guys, we're going to see some physicality in the paint this year.
Eh, we have 3 guys that can play physical. Carr, Williams and Garrison have shown the ability to play that way, but just not up to the level the others can ratchet up to.
None of them are really bangers though and I can see foul trouble being a big issue in SEC play when it comes to Williams and Garrison.
Year one with Pope and throwing a team together will rear its ugly head a few times this season.
UK fans must remember it's just his first year and he took what was available.
Replacement coaches over the past few seasons had a recruiting class that was coming in along with some returners. Pope had none of that.
Then again, how many bigs to we need to run the offense from the top of the key?
I will never understand why Duke didn't pressure him. Brought it up in the CC thread.
They did okay against duke's frontcourt and Carr seems to show up when called upon. But Pope plays such a different style, they have to adjust to us too.
I just hope we hold serve at home and steal a few road games.
The ranking this week have me going again.
Number 1 Tennessee has played one ranked team (Baylor # 13).
Number 2 Auburn has played 3 ranked teams and some of them are really good (Iowa State, Houston, North Carolina and Duke. But they are behind Tennessee.
And Duke with two losses move ahead of UK.

By your definition UT kicked UK's ass at Rupp and UK eked out a game meaningless game after UT had already clinched the SEC title.
