Rosanne Lamar Bee Left/Right Slugjam

Thanks all knowing one. I am glad I can be corrected by the most enlightened person in the world. You just know , no explanation needed obviously. Your way of thinking is the only way and the right way all the time.
This is either projection or... also projection. I don't make a habit here of trumpeting my own abilities and listing credentials.

It should go without saying that we're stating opinions here. If there's any question about that, by all means ask for clarification.

This type response just looks like you can't address the content or don't really care about it, so you go rogue.

Then don't tag me in a 12 page thread of you guys throwing poop barehanded at eachother over some show/actress that I've always thought was annoying and don't care about.
Speaking of poop...
I tagged you for the relevance to your demeanor here. You're threatening me with further insults directed at me personally in response to that? "Stop bringing me into conversations or I'll attack you over completely unrelated and irrelevant personal details"?

And this, kids, is what a melting snowflake looks like.

I'm telling you, you can't use your own definition for universal terms and expect people to know WTH you are talking about. Maybe you can make a cheat sheet as your signature so I can double check every word I've generally understood since elementary school. And your use of psychobabble is a very poor description of my explainations----lf you take time to understand the meaning of that word, it most closely describes the exact manner in which you interact with people. (unless you are using your own definition of the word and not the universally accepted definition).

PB: form of speech or writing that uses psychological jargon, buzzwords, and esoteric language to create an impression of truth or plausibility.

esoteric: intended for or likely to be understood by only a small number of people with a specialized knowledge or interest.

Pretty much nails the way you interact with people on here on political and racial issues. If it doesn't work with your argument, you make up a definition!
It's a definition that has existed for 40 years. I've been clarifying my use here for years. In identifying our definitions as different, I showed awareness and understanding of yours w/o judging it at all. You're getting bent out of shape that I have a different definition -- again, a 40 year old definition -- and fighting against it like it's a threat to you.

Dictionaries rarely address connotation, which is far more relevant in discussions like these.

There are some things where I will say "I see it differently." When it comes to bullcrap analysis of my psyche & intentions in the midst of a hostile argument, I'm digging in my heels and calling it for the crap it is.

Almost every single post of his is slanted and its not hard to see...at all. I guess the preferred vernacular is racially biased.
It's "slanted" by personal experience most of us here will never fully understand and perception of its "slant" is entirely dependent on being completely and willfully different in your own alignment.

I will fully agree there is a good chance we have completely different experiences, and while it may be a reason he posts like like it certainly doesn't make it right. Can I understand the reason behind it, sure. But it still doesn't make it acceptable. I shouldn't "full blown" call anyone a racist unless I have first hand knowledge, so I'll back off that claim. Same with the KL situation. I viewed it as pre-planned and pointed---which may or may not have been the case b/c I have no way of knowing. I guess I cant tell for sure if Rosanne is racist, just posted a racist tweet and generally seems like a terrible person.

I admire your ability to back off extremes sometimes.

My viewing of the Lamar video pretty much absolves him of anything other than awkwardness or a lack of foresight. There has been a concerted effort to twist it into something ugly that it just wasn't. I hear he even started over and sang the song w/ her again, skipping the n-word.

One positive side effect of acknowledging systemic racism is that we can address something racist w/o anyone's having to feel personally attacked b/c it's something ingrained in society, beyond the individual. I have no doubt Roseanne can tally many black people she loves and considers friends. And I've heard jokes I think are racist from people I don't really think of as racists. But making a joke that hinges entirely on a really hurtful stereotype uses that trauma as a punchline, which is completely negligent of people's experiences and their overall well-being. When it's an entire race, it's treating them like sub-human objects for our manipulation and amusement. That's a form of racism whether the perpetrator meant it to be or not.

Point blank she was dead wrong but Trump wants apologies when he's attacked but never apologizes for the crazy things he's said. His children and anyone elses's should be off limits.
This had nothing to do with Trump. This was an unwarranted attack on Ivanka over her posting a picture of herself with her son. The liberals in entertainment are disgusting, this is just another example.

But since he’s the president he should of condemned it. It’s not like he hasn’t commented on things that didn’t concern him before.

Condemned what? Roseanne's comments? I agree. But this has nothing to do with that. I was asking what people thought of Samantha Bee's disgusting comments towards Ivanka.

Yup. This. This all stared on that bullshit child immigrant photo that was four years old trying to be blamed on Trump.

Jesus. So now the president has to condemn anything bad that gets said? No. He doesn’t have to condemn her comments. It has nothing to do with him.

Wasn't that something? So instead of owning a mistake and saying that something needs to be done to prevent this from happening and it needs to be across the board, they double down and blame Trump's policies. Haha.

It's like they found out that those photos were from 2014 and were like, well Trump needs to do something about it.

Eh. Sorry, I'm not offended. Seems like a clear use of over the top language to A) pop the end of a line and B) make a point. Don't think Bee is sexist; in fact, she has spent a career fighting that stuff.

I am generally immune to being offended by words. I LOVE curses. It is the intent behind them that matters, and I don't think the intent here was anything other than bashing Ivanka, a public figure, for not seeming to do anything about a really serious situation that directly ties to something she was actively tweeting about while it happened.

Of course, my own views of the Bee/Trump situation color it, same as yours, Letsgo... but yeah, some of the over the top rightie reactions SCREAM snowflake.

And FAR more important? Actual children being taken away from their parents and put into detention centers. Because if we are going to be honest for a second, Bee saying that will have literally no impact on Ivanka... but what is going on at the border will actually have HUGE impacts on people, for a long, long time. My wife is an infant and children's mental health professional, and she is so, so, SO very upset by this entire thing... its rather remarkable. And I've gotta say... I agree that if Ivanka cares enough to post pictures of her and her child, given that she is in a position of HUGE power she should do something about this. Let's not get too stuck on one comedian's take and miss the more important issue.

Did it upset you that Obama allowed children to be held in cages while they were posting pictures of their daughters from Hawaii?

This might be one of you worst responses. And that says a lot.

Oh stop. You ask a question. I give you an honest answer. Sorry that I don't get all upset a comedienne using a bad word to punctuate a joke about a public figure while making a point about a pretty serious issue. I can't think of ANY joke or standup act I've ever been offended by. Maybe when Kramer started shouting about ******s? Don't be a bitch about it.

And I have no idea what cages you are talking about.

So you're saying if one doesn't do it the other shouldn't have to?

I’ve seen liberal after liberal excuse the heads of the Democratic Party for not commenting on those violent riots. Do you think Obama should have condemned them?

Violent riots with racial hatred crimes being committed and businesses being burnt to the ground seem a bit more concerning to me than a struggling actress and making a racist tweet.

I think presidents should condemn violent riots. I don’t see the need for presidents to correct every celebrity who says something stupid.
