Damn, Bruce must be amazing to only have two of the top 16 players, have Mustapha Heron who averages 16 and 5 not even be in the top 16, to not have his two best players play all season, lose his starting center 3 weeks ago, to not have Chuma Okeke on the All Freshmen team, yet still lead the league wire to wire while beating UT by double digits in Knoxville...

Definitely a lot of sarcasm above and certainly not my intention to discredit Barnes and the wonderful season UT had, but these picks are a laugher. I wonder when the last time the leading scorer of the conference champion didn't make an All-SEC team was? Joke.

Once again, not a knock on UT at all, they deserve all their praise as well, but the snubbing of Bryce Brown, Jared Harper, and Mustapha Heron is crazy.

At least it will be good to get the chip back on our shoulder...

Brown and Harper were 2nd All Sec team voted by the coaches. Do you think both should have been first team?

I was pretty sure that Pearl was not going to win any awards with the lack of affection from fellow coaches we saw while he was at Tennessee.

I am sure Auburn has extra motivation. They have had a great season to be proud of as SEC co-champs.

Yante Maten of Georgia was named AP player of the year which is a great testament to the season he had as the team disappointed.

I think one should've been if you're going to have 8 players on the 1st team. Seems very logical considering AU lead the league wire to wire and basically played w 8 players all season.

Agreed, and I'm glad you didn't take my post as a knock on UT as they deserve what they got as well and had a tremendous season. Both teams have a lot to be proud of.

By the definition of the word, you can’t have co-champions. It defeats the entire purpose of what a champion is. One of you is first, the other second. Tigers and Vols need to figure this thing out. It makes your conference look amateurish.

I believe that is the way it is in most, if not all conferences. I know it has been the way it's been in the SEC. In 1977 Ernie and Bernie swept Kentucky in two games, yet had to share the title with the Cats because the Vols lost to the two worst teams that year, Florida and Georgia.

I can’t speak for most conferences but it is definitely not that way for all conferences. The ACC has one champion each year. Just one of my pet peeves. The idea of co-champions in anything drives me crazy.

The First SEC Regular Season Champion to not have a player on the Coaches All SEC FIRST TEAM since it began in 1956 is The 2018 Auburn Tigers...

Pretty much sums up our season to this point anyways. Mustapha Herron averaged 17.1 Pts ranked 5th, 6th FT %, 10th steals, Top 25 Rebs and leads a Championship Team yet isn't named to the top 16 players, lol...

Mark Fox has done an excellent job underachieving with really good players.

Might want to sit down before you talk to any Kansas fans...

If only they had played each other. Would be more significant if one had beaten the other on their home court.

Maybe, if Auburn hadn't tanked and lost to some lessor team they would be sole champs, but they did. We are co -champs, deal with it.

Sometimes there's a drop off soon after season ending injuries.

You realize that only happened because we had injuries and lost our best post player about 3 weeks ago, right? We are down to basically 7 players now, but when both teams were near full strength, it was obvious who was better :)

Still love ya Della, but save that piss and vinegar for the bammers :)

There are plenty of excuses why something didn't happen. But, if it didn't happen, it didn't happen.

Tennessee and Auburn are Co-Champions. Y'all had every opportunity to avoid it, but you didn't.
So, stop acting like a bunch of whiny ass bammers.

I love ya'll too, Tennessee won a rightful share of the SEC title and no amount of crying is going to change that.:)

Injuries don't count.

UK lost Vanderbilt for 17 games. He is potentially better than any player Auburn has. When Auburn beat UK at Auburn did you come on here and post that Auburn would have lost to UK without Vanderbilt being hurt and missing the first 17 games? Hell no you didn't.

Tennessee is a better team than Auburn without injuries in my view.

Tennessee passes the eye test. Auburn plays pure basketball and I like that; however, UT is one tough out.

Why would I do that when we beat UK handily WITH Vanderbilt while we were without our two best players and basically with only 7 scholarship players?

AU beat UT by double digits in Knoxville when both were healthy.

We won the SEC and beat the co-champ on their turf, I'm more than fine with that.

I agree though, UT is a damn good team and certainly in a class above the rest of the conference as well.

Regardless, even without Vanderbilt for part of the season, UK still has more talent than AU and just about anyone in the country not named Duke.

You did not play UK without your two best players.

We've played our whole season without our two best players...

And Vanderbilt played vs AU. I respect your opinion, but that was a bad analogy.
Here is a better one. You play with what you have and you make no excuses. You should be proud to stand besides the SEC Champs Tennessee as equals.

I am, but I'm just responding to what he said so not sure your point. He said Vanderbilt didn't play vs AU when in fact he did, and did very well.

We won the SEC and beat UT easily on their home court, ill take that every year.

I'm happy for UT, they haven't won anything in a long time and deserve some good news.

We are Co-SEC Champs and nothing needs else be said about it. The fact that Auburn beat UT is irrelevant. The fact that Auburn lost to a lessor team late in the season is irrelevant. Finally, injuries are irrelevant.

Just curious but when has the last time Auburn won the SEC regular season or tournament championship? I honestly can't remember. TIA

We haven't won shit in basketball in two decades. Our fanbase has had a lot to cheer for in other sports thankfully....
